Bike addict
My frame at the back has sort of bent inwards to the extent that my brake pads are pushing on my wheel stopping it from moving at all. i've put some washers on my axle at either side to try and "bend" it back out again. Can you people out there please help me and if there is anything else you can think of that might help please please tell me because the thought of not being able to ride in a 2WEEK holiday is killing me Edited April 6, 2006 by Bike addict

Joe_Da_Man
Hi thereCan you post a picture of the problem so i can get a better picture of what needs resolving. Cheers. One option is to heat the bend up and slowly bend back to it's original shape, If you bend the back to quick it could cause the bend to crack/snap.Anyways post up a picture and we can go from there.Cheers joe Edited April 6, 2006 by Joe_Da_Man

zoo
But if it has bent once it will bend again with ease..just buy a new frame...more money but by far the safest option matey.zoo

Bike addict
trust me both sides are locked. I think i can safely say that i am now well and truly, annoyed. My camera wont load the pictures, my bike is bent in ways i cannot explain, my other bike is in need of new brake pads which have not been ordered yet, my toe hurts from drop bricks on it whilst trying to help my dad and now my phone wont turn on, i don't think my day could get any worse unless some fat bloke tried to steal my house and make me drink soup. No doubt that after i have posted this i will get some sarcastic git topping it all off with the most pointless question. Oh joy P.s keep posting your ideas on how to help
mat hudson
how the hell did you bend it?
Bike addict
Well, i guess ive found my sarcastic git have'nt i????? if you were being serious (i doubt that) on my rear axle, when i took the bolts off of it that secure it to the frame, there was some space on either side of it because the frame sort of bent outwards but, i have tightened the bolts too tight so now it bends inwards instead. Aren't i the lucky one

ManxTrialSpaz
So, the rear 'arms' of the bike have bent in causing your brakes to rub. The most logical question is, 'well, how f***ing thin is your wheel?' And the most obvious remedy is spacing. If you have put spacers on your rear axle and the brake is still rubbing, the next step would be to make sure the TPA is wound out. (The red knob on your brake levers, wind them to the minus.(Just telling you in case you didn't know)) If your brakes are still rubbing, time to set them up again. Place them as far away as possible and make sure you do the bolts on the brake clamps up and make sure you do it tight as they will move out of position if done pussy handedly. If your brake still rubs, revert back to step one and add more spacers.

TheFabricator
you need to be very careful before you bend it back, it might crack. better to use spacers and flex it back. how bent is it. move the maguras right out and use worn pads to get clearance rather than bend it. Bike addict
Its bent to the extent that even if i do move the brakes back to the furthest that they can go its still gripping really hard, i can barely move the wheel even with a lot of force
