Ben Cox
does anyone know what bb comes in the dk 8 pack as this one is dead and my shimano one looks too small
Lawnmowerman
American size bb. What year is it?
Mark W
I haven't found any pics with a decent view of the BB so I couldn't be sure, but your Shimano BB wouldn't do you much good anyway, 'cos no BMX's use a mountain-bike style BB (Euro BBs are pretty similar, but aren't square taper or whatever. Primo Power and Hollowbites are, but they're different sizes 'n' stuffs). What's sketchy about it?
Ben Cox
American size bb. What year is it?umm i havent got a clue lol, its yellow the bb in there the bearings are shot as hell it makes some funky noises whilst pedalling and spins about as smooth as sandpaperBen
Lawnmowerman
Just go to a bike shop and get a american unsealed bb set. They cost about £6 normally. Piss to fit aswell

Mark W
The only problem with that is that unsealed ones tend to be 23mm axle?New sealed American BBs are pretty cheap, you can get 'em for about a tenner from some places online... Lawnmowerman
But dont forget that if you have an unsealed bb your spindle will have threads on it for the cones and nuts. I reckon your cranks are just generic 3 piece beasts so theyre either huuuuge square taper or similar to isis.
Mark W
Ben, get some pics of this bike I'm pretty sure that most of the newer DKs have been made with non-shit BB's (i.e. not threaded), so I guess we've just gotta get pics...
Ben Cox
heres a pic of the bb area Edited April 5, 2006 by Man On A Mission
Lawnmowerman
Bloody hell! You could of cleaned it hehe. Look like a semi sealed thingy. Theyre hard to get hold of, your better off getting new cranks to be honest. My mate is selling some primo powerbites if your interested. Ben Cox
dont really want to get new cranks, its only a get to work bikeBen
Mark W
It's sealed bearing, with a weird spacer at the end? Basically, if you get a new sealed US BB from somewhere like Winstanleys, you can replace the cups/bearings, use those spacers, and then you're good to go. That's if you wanna keep it cheap - otherwise, go for the Powerbites being offered, maybe?
Lawnmowerman
Give it a wash and get another pic. I remember my mate had a bb like that and it was an arse to get new bearings for. He sent his old ones to alans i think and they found some for him
