Swize
Naa man respect I would never have the balls to do that. Maby a little less of the whole stuttering next time but all that taked is a script and it should be good.I mean people may be saying everyting now but they will all rember it, I know I visited the site just to see what it had to offer.Sam Edited April 5, 2006 by Swize
Mark W
Constructive criticism you say?Firstly, the reason I turned it off wasn't because it was "different". It being "new" wasn't what made me not like it, the fact that it was incredibly cheesy and actually felt awkward to listen to at times was the problem. It just sounded almost patronising, to me. Trials riders know what it's like to be trials riders, and Ridden aren't big enough to sell to people outside it, so I just think you kind of went about it the wrong way. It was an interesting idea, and after the first bit of speech I sorta thought it might work, but that bit around the 50second mark or so was just too much, really. Just think about what you're saying first, plan it out, make it more dynamic and effective, and just don't try and bullshit your way through it, really. I'm not saying that in a "You cock" way or anything, but it just sounded like you were trying to blag it too much, and making T-shirts out to be more than just T-shirts, which they aren't. I wouldn't say they "represented riding through their typography" (or whatever the exact quote was), and it's just not really the best way to market them. They're just T-shirts, not really anything new except they've got different designs, which is what you'd be better off focussing on. Mention the quality 'n' stuff, but the whole deep and meaningful bit was just waaaaaaay too much...Oh, and nice one Si. Sorted
Simon
Biff says he knows Jonny and was only messing around. As he now is not able to post, i thought i might clear that up before any unnecessary abused his directed Biff's way. Atleast, unnecessary in this instance. JT!
I would IF I could ride, im shit you see. I understand that everybody disliked the video, fair enough, but be more constructive - Rank and 'No you dont want to see it' (thanks Joe!) isn't a lot of help. Seems if anybody does anything above the norm, it gets slated, thats wrong!I was the only person who used the word rank, so i assume that's directed at me, and i followed that with alot of constructive crittisism.I didn't like it becuase of the reasons i said, i didn't watch it and think "Oh that's different, that means i don't like it".I also wanted to make my opinions clear as there was more at stake than just your reputaion, there's the sales of your t-shirts aswell. Tony Harrison
onzaboymarks just a twatHe's far more than that...Anyways's's's's's*, as for the video, I think the idea has potential. I always liked those bits on Road Fools when they just talk about what they've been up to, but in this case (being a planned promo) a script of some kind wouldn't have gone amiss. Like the bit where you say they don't fade... reminds me of the salesman in Liverpool when that European cup bollocks was on... 'T-shirts a fiver mate! Don't fade in the wash! Only this price today!' ...if you see what I mean. Either way, good choice of bike...*Yes, that's right children, I have IASS - Involuntary Additional 'S' Syndrome
Will Arnold
i quite liked it to be honest chilled sort of video, was cool was nothing like an 8 year old doing a presentation. ffs its like people are deliberately shooting people down for doing something different anyways, good video dude p.s. sortof reminded me of martyn ashton and martin hawyes chatting away in one of their old vids Will

Al_Fel
Good try Johnny Its got to be said you do take a lot of stick but you still keep on trying so I can't do anything but respect that. The way I see it is trials is a popularity contest. Mr Ashton seems to be doing very well at the moment I say it to his face but he's bailed to china in his boat to get more frames knocked up lol.I wonder when the MSN names T-shirts will be out? chimpanzyyyy
when I saw it I m thinking about ryan leech, in some little video of him ryan talks like that over images.but it s not for t shirt. maybe trialmedia has been influenced by this video...I don t know :$ I don t know if you see what I mean
club_card
to be honest, i thought it was a lot better than people making out it was The concept i actually liked, the intro was pretty cool, just the script, as everyone is saying, i reckon without the talking it would've probably been alot better, nice try though! P.S and you not shit at riding, probably alot better/smother than a large majority on here (including me!!!)
011001000110010101110010
This kind of made me laught, reminded me of the armadildo promo video which was hillarious!
Tomm
I didn't think it was that bad. Obviously Johnny was talking bollocks ("Typographically they kind of express what riding is all about") but it didn't sound awkward or patronising to me. Still not very good though, because nothing happened apart from some guy talking crap about a T-shirt (and riding those walls from TM1). rathergoodpie
I thought it was a good effort at trying something a bit different. Really nicely shot, music would have been nice all the way through though i rekon. But yeah for an initial trail it prob should have been more punchy but thats obvoiusly not the angle you were coming from, which people dont seem to understand on here... looks like you were trying to reflect the laid-back side of trials, which to me is more valid, as it isn't a particularly agressive sport like bmxing. Anyhoo, i think that the idea is there, it just need pushing in a different direction. (btw i am a full time graphic designer so sorry if im bollocking on a bit!) Robps, like the shirt designs a lot, infact, i have some ideas of my own.... i'll be pming you shortly
Christophe'
I thought it was a good first atempt At a different style of video. To be fair , some bits were a bit embarrising.Maybe that style could be adapted to make a " documentry" about the whole riding scene at the moment.Rider interviews etc????? ???Not just riding with a sound track only liked by the person that made the video . (Not any vid in particular!!!)Just a thought. Simply a thought.Wish I had the time/skill to poduce something half decent like that, Jonny!Dave
mavic
Did not think it was that bad at all i could see were jonny was coming from , the dialoge could have been slightly better and maybe a few more shots of the clothes them selfs. and slightly shorter and too the point. punchy could be the word used for what a add should be like.Dan. Jonny Jones
I was the only person who used the word rank, so i assume that's directed at me, and i followed that with alot of constructive crittisism.I didn't like it becuase of the reasons i said, i didn't watch it and think "Oh that's different, that means i don't like it".I also wanted to make my opinions clear as there was more at stake than just your reputaion, there's the sales of your t-shirts aswell.Fair enough dude, appologies. They're sadly not my T designs. Ridden Clothing is the new line at TartyBikes. Made by a dude in Canada. He wanted an original marketing 'campaign'.. of sorts... still in working progress :$ Thanks for the comments! All will be taken into consideration!J.
