PaRtZ
About a 2 weeks ago I started having pains in my stomach. If you've ever been so hungry that, if you eat something it hurts even more? it was similar to that. Also it would start in my stomach and then slowly transfer to my heart (or around that area atleast) and give a sensation like heartburn, only without the feeling in the throat. For 3 days in a row it was so bad during the night I didn't sleep for 3 days. Anyway now (2 weeks later) it wasn't as bad as before, but the reason im posting this now is cos last night was crippling for me, and just as bad as when it first started. I didn't go to the doctors for two reasons:a ) I thought it was just a "faze" and would go soonB ) My doctor is a tit: he tells me to "rest" to cure everything...I should also point out that prior to this I was drinking a lot of orange juice...like half a litre a day for most of the week cos i realised i usually don't get any minerals and vitamins anyway. Could I have kidney stones? Anyway your ideas welcome. Feel free to be sarcastic, im not a morbid person about this Edited April 2, 2006 by PaRtZ

Greetings
I'd just wait another week, things like this usually sort themselves out in due course.

Tomm
What kind of pain was it? Burning, stabbing, crushing etc. And was it constant pain, or sort of coming and going in spasms? Is it worse when you breathe in? Did the pain radiate anywhere else? What were you doing at the time it came on? Eating anything, doing anything? If it's worse on eating, is there any food that makes it especially bad? Fatty or spicy or something? Does anything make it go away - medications, lying down, resting, exercising? Have you ever had the pain in the past?Any funny tastes in your mouth associated? In fact is there anything else apart from the pain? Are you taking any medications? Stuff like chronic aspirin use can give you stomach pain, so if you're taking lots of aspirin you ought to say... Antibiotics too. Or anything else, legal or otherwise Any family history of lactose intolerance/coeliac's disease etc?It doesn't really sound like kidney stones - it would be unusual for kidney stone pain to back that high up - it usually starts in your sides/back, a bit lower down. Could be I suppose. Dehydration can give you kidney stones, but I don't think have a litre every day is actually that much. I usually drink around a litre/day of juice.Do you have any of these: Fever, nausea, vomiting, headaches, dizziness, weakness, diarrhoea, constipation etc? Those questions should keep you busy.Although this is quite interesting and I would like to solve this myself ( ), you really should go to the doctors. Besides, even if we do work it out, there's not much you can do unless you see a doctor.
mat hudson
just keep your water intake really really high, it'll flush everything through pretty sharpish.
ScotchDave
Could be gastric reflux, try eating really slowly and chewing everything lots, if that helps it's most likely reflux. You don't always have to get the acid taste for it to be reflux.
steve sturt
Could be anything, from a dose of indigestion through to crohns disease. Dont be complacent about it. My brother has Crohns, and it took 2 years to diagnose. His symptoms started out as mild, and where overlooked by both himself and the doctors. Now he can barely eat at all, and looks anorexic.Hope its nothing more than indigestion, but its worth making sure.

RicH_87
if it wasd kidney stones you'd of gone to the doctors a long time ago. i doubt anyone would put up with kidney stone pain for more than 1 night.could be some other kind of stones though, bladder maybe? although that isn't really stomach orientated.or could be you apendix, although probably unliklely from your symptoms, have a look on the nhs website and anser the questions, that could give you some sort of idea.annd finally, it could just be trapped wind. I've had numerous nights where i couldn't sleep due to being in immense pain so i know exactly what you mean. However it eventually went away. anzo
I used to get really bad pains in my chest, to the point where I couldn't walk, hardly breathe and you could hear my heartbeat from the other side of the room if I lay down.It was really odd, anyway, id get it for like 2 hours and it'd go away, and I'd be fine. I went to the doctors with it after a while because my girlfriend bullied me into it, and he took a look at me, listened to my heartbeat, blood pressure and all that shit, and then said 'its growing pains'.So remember folks, when it feels like you're having a heart attack and about to die...its just growing pains.I haven't had them in a long, long time now, probably about a year or so and I have no idea what it was. Some people do say that people have slight heart aches before having a major heart attack...so looks like my appointment is booked with God.
