hugh_b
anyone tried these forks, i have heard from some peeps that magnesium dropouts tend to fall off understress from running a disk. I have the skills, and facilities to make up some cnc'd dropouts and mount them on however is there anything else that goes wrong such as snappage or coming away from the crown?? Cheers-Hugh
Christophe'
Ive done it. They were nice but too long.Looking back on it , i wouldnt bother now.
Ashley Smith
the problem about pace forks being too long has now been resolved, when ordering your forks you can now order the legs to be cut to the required length, the only snag about this is that its costs £20 more than the retail price.ive often thought about fitting them to my bike but i cant deice wether or not i want toregards ash
Christophe'
Good on Pace!
hugh_b
cheers for that guys. When you say "too long" do you mean they actually look really really long for example a massive gap between tyre and crown or do you mean they really could do with being shorter to minimize flex?? It's just i have just seen some fitted to a BT and looks wise they seem fine and they dont look modified in anyway.
Christophe'
Its not how they " look" , they are rigid forks for XC bikes that have frame geometry designed for modern suspension forks.I think mine were 440mm? off the top of my head.My previous forks were 400 mm . Orange trials forks. They were " ok" but not ideal. This was on a planetx zebdi mk2.Id measure some other modern trials fork and order the same lenght from pace.I dont go that big and had v brakes so the dropout wasnt a problem. Not sure how strong the disc mount will be....depends on your riding style/weight etc.Hope this has helped??? hugh_b
yep thats great. Bit concerened about the dropouts and length though because i'll be doing some fairly big stuff and alot of natural etc.
Christophe'
As Trial Noir said...Pace will make them the length u want them for 20 squiddont worry about flex! That was the best aspect of the forks. They are not forks for bashing on concrete bear in mind
