Bluegrass
It seems both my brake lights arn't working, Ive had problems with them for a while. Bulbs seem to go within a matter of weeks. Ive had new foot brake switch (dont know what its called, switch under the foot brake that turns rear brake lights on...) not so long ago, so surely this couldn't have gone again?! Could it be re-wiring needed etc? Getting desperate as i NEED the car over the weekend urgently. Pug 106 if it helps. Thanks for any advice
Jonny Jones
Check the fuse box. Usually somewhere under the steering wheel J.
Lawnmowerman
You've probably got a short somewhere. Take the lights out and check that the wires arent worn or been rubbed through on the body
Caleb
Could also check the tail light wiring loom and the live connectiopn at the back to make sure it has good connection, that was the problem with mine anyway
wayneone
Are you changing the bulbs yourself? make sure you dont touch the bulb directly with your hands wrap it in a tissue.

Simpson
i think thats only true with halogen bulbs (16 and know little just thought may help dont know technically why something to do with chemicals???)
the_soon_to_be
with halogen bulbs, the salts in you sink react with the glass and weaken it, so not only do they not last as long but when they blow, they don't just burn out, the glass itself can explode
spencer@hulltrials
i think you'll find that touching a halogen bulb with your fingers makes no difference to the life of the bulb, it merely creates a oilly patch on the bulb which lasts for a few minutes at the most when the bulb is in use.
