theone2be
Since I usually ride a stock I’m completely clueless about freewheel systems on mods. I know that I don’t want a front freewheel and I need some advice on what to do next. I was going to put a hope trials pro 2 hub on the back (didn’t know whether it would go on a mod wheel?). But now I’ve been told I can run this:Rear Hub: Echo fixed 20"Rear freewheel (screw on): ACS weldedCrank (square taper): Echo 6061Front chainring: TensileI didn’t know I could put a fixed hub on the back with a screw on freewheel, can I?If so what changes if any would anyone make to the above set up on a t-pro. Mark W
Hope Pro2T hubs are 135mm wide, and your rear dropout spacing on your mod is 110mm. 10lbs of shit into a 5lb bag If you ran 18t up front and 18t rear, it would be spinny as arse. If you mean the 22t Tensile bashring, then that'd be 22:18 which would still be pretty damn spinny compared to a 'real' mod gear, which equates to aaaaaaround 22:14.5. Convenient, eh? Just try sticking with FFW for a bit. It's pretty cool if you've got a good freewheel, and seeing as the Tensile freewheel's gonna be released pretty iminnently, you can get yourself a lovely, strong, 60ep freewheel for £30 or so, which is somewhat of a bargain. Loads cheaper than a new wheel, etc. too
theone2be
Oh and by the way, i've only got the frame and forks at the moment. Sorry if i hadn't mentioned it before.
basher
u can run a fixed hub with a fixed cog on the hub or cranks and run the freewhel on the hub or cranks or you can get a free hub were the freewheel is built in to the hub. if you going to use a fixed hub i would suggest having the free wheel on the front and not to get a acs if you can aford it get a eno. you could use a hope pro2 but you'll have to get it machined smaller to fit. theone2be
Sorry people please can this topic be closed, as funding has fallen through on me buying the t-pro frame and forks . I'm going to stick with my stock for a while and build up my basic skills. Edited March 31, 2006 by thwaites14
