streetjibs
for the 1st time last night i took out my trials bike (24inch) and my bmx... started riding the bmx first for about 30mins then switched over to my trials bike. Obviously theres huge weight and geo differences between them ... but for the first 10mins or so I couldnt do a thing on the trialsy! It felt gay, twitchy and gearing! haha i almost flipped the bike from pedalling. But after that first bit i found i could do more on my trials bike then i could before! it still felt not as normal as it usually did... but i was spinnning around on it so easily and backweeling some massiv stuff.Im just curious... how many people on this forum do actually ride bmx bike and a trials bike and what have you noticed from switching between the bikes ????good or bad things from it....danny. manuel
I find i nearly do frontflips on my trials bike, as i run my back brake on the other side on my bmx... (thanks to it arriving when i had broken my wrist and couldnt pull the lever with the cast on !!)but after that its usually better - I think because the bmx weighs almost twice as much... also i think you go faster at stuff - thanks to rolling more (fast) on a bmx. Mark W
Yeah, I've found that BMX has benefited my trials loads. The only downside though is that from BMX->trials is a really easy switch for me, but trials->BMX takes about 4-5 hours of riding for my BMX to feel comfortable again. Muchos suckage It really does benefit your trials though, right up until the point where you decide to do BMX full-time instead
011001000110010101110010
I have been riding bmx for about a year now and although Ive not been riding on it recently I think it really helps. Teachs you more about speed of attack and conifdence. Did anyone else get bullied by local riders for riding bmx like a trials bike for the first few rides? :$ Just me then.. Mark W
If I ever do a correction hop doing a fufanu or abubaca, Hudson calls me a fag trials rider. In fairness, I've seen a lot of BMX-only riders ride them like trials bikes. Bitch-cranks on manuals on the deck and stuff like that... Jesus Christ, it makes a lot of 'street'-wannabe trials riders look God-like
Houseface
i find that from trials to bmx you find bmx easier to pull up/hop/spin(cause i have a long trials bike)and from bmx to trials it is so weightless that i have to hardly do asnything to get the bike to do things steve. DAB
My we the people has front and rear brakes, a small gearing (compared to to normal bmx). i ride it mostly on street and ramps and i don't care what people think of me on it ei: i do 720.. bar spins, grinds, tailwhips, manuals(front and rear), then turn round and do a kick hop on to a rail and gap drop in to a ramp!! some bmx's don't like it, but i don't care when i get back on my trials bike the only think that i feel is the normal "f#ck me how light is my bike"...
