Clarky
Hi the i was doing a front wheel gap and i hit the corner to hard leaving me to jump off the bike and let it drop onto the brake levers, I noticed a slight rubbing click on the gold brass barrel where it is rubbing onto the black lever housing the barrel has a bit of movement up and down and the circular cut out on the lever blade where it slots into the barrel has around 1mm of play my brake has only just started doing this tonight, i just wondered if anyone else has had this problem.Clarky. Trials Punk
If you give it a whack you should expect something to happen. I'd replace it or at least bodge it in someway to stop it doing any more damage.
Clarky
It's almost assive the brass has rounded and the circular ends on the lever have rounded a bit.

Clarky
I will do but to be honest i think it may be the lever aswell hmm probably the brass barrel come to think of it being th softer metal of the two so it will be more likely to wear down
Trials Punk
I thought brass was harder wearing that alloy.Hence why they use brass nipples to build wheels for longlife, alloy for lightness.May be just me.
dave33
yea brass is stronger but still softer than steel, so the brass strips instead of the the steel, its also much better for making making bushes from as the brass bit runs again the blade when the lever is pulled
Ashley Smith
the brass barrels do wear, they go egg shaped, they are available from chain reaction cyclesash
