scott-mad
hi there recieved my avid ultimate lever today and it doesnt have a return spring for when you pull the lever? is this right or is it supposed to have one?thanks in advance
Mark W
I'm pretty sure that's right for the Ultimate? It just uses the spring tension from the V-brake arms to draw the cable back, much the same as the majority of other V-brake levers?
AdamR28
They do have return springs, at least the half dozen or so that I've seen did.Adam

Tomm
Can't speak for the Avids, but XT/XTR levers have very weak springs to make them return. Although I would guess that most of the power comes from the springs in the brake itself, so you could probably do without the springs in the lever. Try it and see?Although I guess you may as well just demand another lever, considering they're so expensive. You want it to be perfect...
