steve-o1986
I have just got a good deal on a pair of Alex rims Dx32's i was wondering if its a good idea to put one on the front? Or would it be to much better to go for a lighter rim such as a Onza Hog with sidewall drilled rim? and get rid of the dx32?and has anyone heard of Base BIkes Hubs? are they any good?Cheers guysSteve-o
Bigman
I am running a DX32 on the front, but it has 1 inch holes drilled into it, i LOVE it, it makes such a stable front end, on natural there is barely any tyre fold with a 2.35 maxxis. When drilled with holes such as mine they actualy come down to a respectable weight, i think mine is between 500 and 600g but i can't remember what exactly............As for the Hubs, i expect they are very similar to the shimano hubs, and therefore steer WELL clear!!!!Adam

TomN
Best thing is to buy a Hope XC in the first place last longer and worth the price. If the Base is like Shimano ones then they are turd as I always snap the axle on Shimano's...
steve-o1986
unfortunately i didn't get the rims as the seller sold them to someone else at the last min, but i did get a pair of hope xc hubs, front and rear for £60, just need to get some rims now, any suggestions? I was thinking about the onza hog rim on the bag and the drilled version for the front, or would a Dx32 be better? i could always drill one my self.cheers guys Steve-o
CurtisRider
if you want a set of wide rims, get an alex dx32 rear, and a dm24 front, damn solid combo, and will last longer than any of these crappy half metre wide things they make now alternatively be a man and buy some mavic rims, d521 rear(ex721 now) and a x517 front for no weight at all/ d521 if you are a beefcake/ d321(ex729) if you run a disc
