geraldo453
Hi guys. I want to buy new rims for my t-pro, I was thinking of getting the echo rims, or try all rims, but I want the best performance.I would like rims that are: strong, light, powerful and long lasting.I grind my rim so it obviously needs to be thick based. Please send your recommendations, and price range of the rim.thanks, Geraldo453
fruitbat
round ones are always a good start I seen a lot of people using the Koxx ones, they seem stron and lightweight enough. good choice in anyones books, unsure of pricing though. Check with some sites and find prices outFrooty

Jaffacakes
I would defiantly go for Tryall. My mate (granty on here) had his Echo rims about a week and it had huge flat spots but it was probably just a shity build. My tryall rims are spot on really. Bike addict
I would say get some echo or try-all rims.Onza aren't bad either, depending on which ones you get. you can get them from here: http://82.110.105.16/tartybikes.co.uk/category.php?id=

Mark W
Try-Alls, although they don't hold a grind for all that long (depending on pads ), are still a pretty good buy. Mine are holding up OK with only one or two minor, minor flatspots, and they're pretty old now. Either way, the number of horror stories about Echo rims (from any year ) is still greater than the number of horror stories for the Try-Alls since they've been around... Mark W
A bit off topic? Go to www.imageshack.us, upload your image there, then copy the "Direct Link" you get given in the lists of links after it's uploaded, then put that in here with before it and [ /IMG] (Without the space between the [ and the /) after. Alternatively, click the little box in the panel above where you type your post out that has the picture of the tree on it, and put the link in there...e.g. [img=http://www.picturehost.com/mark'spicture1.jpg]

You used to run koxx greens right ? How did the grind hold up on that? As for rims well Dx32 if you can find one for the rear and on the frount anything lightweight.Sam
Mark W
I still use Koxx Greens, and when my first pair eventually wear out I'll put the second pair I've already bought to replace them on That's how good they are - the first pads I've ever bought twice (oh, and watch Stan Shaw's vids to see just how good the greens are too ) Anyways, I regrind every 6-8 weeks just 'cos I love the feel and performance of a new grind. I could let it go on longer, but you need to sand the pads down every now and again the longer you let it go on for, 'cos when they wear out the grind they get covered in this gash metallic glaze which makes the brake shit and wears the grind out faster. But yeah, *amazing* pads. I know they're not home-made so people won't like them, but if we think back to why Heatsink started in the first place it's 'cos the Koxx Bloxx were amazing and everyone used them, but they wanted cheaper versions? See where I'm going with that? Koxx green plugging aside - like I said, 6-8 weeks gives you uber braking. I don't do particularly savage grinds or anything, so if you went mental it'd probably last a bit longer (speaking of 'lasting longer' - I'm running the same pads I had on at the DJ ride last year, with about 2-3mm left I had some 'sink blues, Konigs and a Coust pad in that time too, but the Koxx pads have just taken it sooooooo well). I've ground this rim god knows how many times now and it's still holding up, although like I say, recently I've flatspotted it twice but that's largely 'cos I got into the habit of landing gaps like a fat heffer... Clarky
Those new echo rims look lush on a mod yet there meant to be poo on a stock.

Caleb
Yeah im also pretty stuck on this one.i have a viz 19" rim atm, which is strong, no dents flatspots etc. . .however it wont hold a grind.now the alex rims and onza rionnies do hold a grind but ive found do dent a fair bit.id rather have a rim that holds a grind though personally and they werent exactlly weak . . so il go for a ronnie if i were you or a dx
King C
Another thing with the echos is that they dont hold grinds because of the tough anodising.
luccosleeps
Another thing with the echos is that they dont hold grinds because of the tough anodising.that to me doesn't make any sense. Beacause 1. you grind off the heard anodising so there would be none there, as for the rim holding a grind i don't have a clue.
Saracen Kid
GET RONNIE AND REGIE RIMS FROM ONZA
fox
If you want a good and quite strong rim, then get a DX32(i had it about for 6 months, and no dents). I granted it for 4 times, and its condition was good. But, if you want something, that is more colorful and wider, then get V!Z, Try-All or Echo 2006 rims.. Now i got Try-All rim and i like it too.. I recommend DX32 and Try-All rims Kevin Edited March 28, 2006 by fox
