Mark W
If you go for the Python, you'll need to get a new chain as the chainstays are about 10mm longer, meaning you'll probably have to throw an extra link in (unless you can find one hanging around somewhere).Having ridden both, I think I'd go for the Zona. It has a shorter rear end than the Zoo and a higher BB, so it's a lot more lively and flickable. It manuals and bunnyhops really well, and just rides very nicely in general. I wasn't particularly keen on the feel and ride of the various Zoos I've felt, although some people seem to get on with them. Equally, you're saving around £130, so that's a decent wodge of cash. You'd need a new bashguard for the Zona though, don't forget! If you go for the Zoo, to be honest the T-Bird bashring isn't that strong, so you may need to upgrade it.Either way, you're going to need a new headset. £11 will buy you an FSA Pig which will be plenty good enough.Try-All rear rims are pretty good too, to be honest. I'd way prefer one of them over either the '05 or '06 Echo rims. Also, the Onza risers seem to have a nicer feel to them than the Zoos. They have a little more sweep to them, and just feel more comfortable to ride with - the Zoo bars feel too flat almost?Otherwise, it all sounds pretty good. If you're going for an ACS, you could just get the unwelded model and then just get some threadlock glue to hold the lockring shut, or just go for the more expensive welded version for less hassle
Onzaallen
Cheers for that help. I would go for the try-all rims but they don't do them in green i don't think, I know i am being a bit sad but i just love the look of them green rims. I will tell my dad that the zona sounds a lot nicer and from what i have heard rides a lot nice as he really wants me to get the zoo because it looks a lot stronger and i will agree with him there. I have got loads of old chains hanging about because i have snapped three this year already.I think what ever frame i get it will feel much much nicer to my t-bird! I just can't seem to get any better on it as it is so heavy.Just a bit more information i am 5 foot 8 inchs so i think that the zoo might feel a bit long anyway, I would get it in the short if i did get it so what odes people about my height think of the short length wise? Cheers Allen.
