Onzaallen
I will be using my onza cranks no matter what frame i get but i can't get them off of the bottom bracket. I have tried using hot water,wd-40,hitting it with a very large hammer and few other things and i can't get it off so any suggestions on that would be much appreciated Allen...... Ben Cox
got a local bikeshop? go in there and ask for a crank extractor it screws into the threads on the crank arm (where the bolt sits) and then you tighten the other bit and it pushes the crank off of the spindle safely Ben

Ben Cox
sounds all cool, you have a 24t chainring on the onza cranks so i think an 18t freewheel will be a nice ratio , you will need a new headset, but dont go nuts and buy and echo one, just get a fsa pig, those headsets are smooth, cheap and best of all built to withstand some stick Ben

JT!
Hi again, Will my bash fit the zoo and the zona or will in need to get a zoo or zona bash or a bash ring? Thanks again Allen.I still think your a bit unsure about the drivetrain. There are two types of setups you can have, there's a rear freehwheel setup, and a front freewheel setup.Your t-bird at the moment has a rear freewheel setup.I've noticed in an earlier post you were going to buy the Echo ISIS. You current cranks will not fit on that BB. As the cranks you have at the moment are square tapers.Another point, is that i don't think the bashring on your current cranks will fit over the bashplates on the more common frames (including the zip), the t-bird bashplate is one of a kind, and very different from the ones on most frames (including the zona zip). I, for a very short period of time, had a 22t bashring and chainring with a bashplate like on the zona zip, and it just fit. I when i mean just, i mean just. When ever i used the bashplate it actually started scraping on it. So if you did get the zip, you could try it but you might have problems, or you could take the bashplate off, and use the bash ring.If you go for the zoo, you won't have a problem, and that dosn't have a bash plate at all.Sorry if i'm underestimating your knowledge, and just insulted your intelligence. If you don't understand anything let me know and i'll go into more detail. Edited March 26, 2006 by JT!

If so which ones should i get.cheers Allen.
bhups
hello,Your setup so far sounds great but i advise you not to get an 06 echo coloured rim for the rear unless you grind the anodizing off, as an alternative get the echo 05 cnc rim which is also cheaper.Bhups. M3LLON_t-mag
i run both the 06 rim and the riser bars. the bars feel a bit weird at first almost like they are sloping down but they are easy to get used to. the rim is also a star choice you can really feel the difference in weight plus they look grate whats more i am running mine on my standard onza hub and spokes from my ONZA t-magcheers mellon

I was never 100% sure about the drivetrain but i has read before that the onza has a rear freewheel but it didn't mean a lot to me.Well, if you want a external echo BB, your going to have to get a fixed cog up front, and that means getting something like a profile on the rear, that that's getting might costy. I'll explain all the front freewheel, rear freewheel stuff when i'm next on. Busy day. This my sound stupid but what does CNC stand for?Computer Numerically Controlled.Ever thought about selling the t-bird locally and just buying a new bike? Seing as though you changing nearly eveything on it anyway.

JT!
Then when that is done then build my onza up again and sell it.Hehe that's exactly what i did. Keep upgrading and then build a bike out of all the old parts.
thesoupdragon182
I would go with the zona for two reasons1, I am tight and would not spend the extra money on the zoo as after riding both there is not alot of differance.2, I proferred the zona as the zoo felt very long and has no bash gaurd also is horrible to bunny hop where as the zona is so much fun as apose to a chore
Onzaallen
Hi, I am not 100% sure as to which bottom bracket to get. For the zoo or the zona would a onza square tapper fit? Just if it did u could use my onza cranks.

Onzaallen
http://selectbikes.com/shop/description.php?prodid=154thats the bb i would get Cool thanks, Any other suggestions on the other parts, Rims especially; i was thinking of the echo 06 rims but i have just realized they are not good for grinding so are the 05 ones still available and are they any good? The reason i want echo rims are i can get them i green and you can't get the try-all ones in greenThanks Allen.

Does anyone else use these rims and if so what do you think of them?Allen.Just to tie up a few loose ends; What Rims? And will any 19" rear rim fit my onza hub and spokes? More comments on what rim to get please i still can't decide and i can't find anyone with one. I know i should be able to decide for myself but i just don't know the quality of the two frame, to me the zoo looks the stronger frame but there i just something about the zona that i really like. Thanks in advance Allen.
