Simon
Right, i keep having to say this. This doesn't just apply to a website i reply too, it applies to any website.Have a look at this image, then look at how big it is on the homepage. Regardless of what width and height values you put in, it will load the whole image, then shrink it on the fly, so instead of loading what would be a sub 90kb photo, it has to load a 900k photo. Now, imagine that times 5.Other then that, a nice design, but make the links stand out more, they are very dull.
Dai the Socket
I knew Arans site wouldn't have a clue.I'll speak to him on MSN. I'd rather he have a free good site than one he did himself and it be shocking, take 99939423432jil years to load and not align properly

IOLO
so instead of loading what would be a sub 90kb photo, it has to load a 900k photo. Now, imagine that times 5.yea i get you,, i wasnt sure if dreamweaver wud do that or not, but it is VERY obvious that i need to resize the images in photoshop or whatever and then put them into dreamweaver.silly program/mebut it is the first time iv ever done any website work at all.so its all ok,i will sort that one when iv got some free time..soon !iolo

Endohopper
Congratulations on getting it off the ground , seems like a well presented site . Only one criticism : Quote IOLOBIKES.COM "...You have to choose your Geometry, Dropouts (vertical/horizontal), Head tube ...etc "The way this is written makes selecting these options seem like a troublesome obligation , whereas it's actually an exciting and unique opportunity to design a custom frame . Emphasise this , it's not a chore , it's perhaps THE reason to choose an Iolobikes frame over a factory frame . Best of luck with the site / company Edited April 6, 2006 by Endohopper

poopipe
k - my opinions are the best so ner good things. page load nice and quick (important)useful links are at the top of the page (good for users, good for google)no stupid gimmicks like b*****d floating menus or sidebars that don't scroll with the rest of the page (good for users, good for google)not green text on black background (or similar rotten, painful colour combination)bike shaped logo thing on the banner is very groovypretty banner picture (its just too big)you used point sizes for the text instead of pixels - this is important because it means the text size settings in the browser will work( good for accessibility)bad things (sorry)Banner is too big - I'm on the missus lappytop at 1280x1024 and I lose half the page to a banner. On a proper computer running 1600x1200 it's less of a problem but not everybody has a proper computer. The main body text is too big - big enough to slightly scare me in fact but thats 14pt arial for you. (try verdana - its lovely)Menu text is a bit indistinct - definitely go bold (google likes bold too) and I'd suggest a more contrasty colour. The text area is probably too wide - people can only handle about 6-8 words in a row before their eyes get boredThe page is left-heavy - you need to be drawing people down the page as they read whereas I found my eyes kind of heading left as i looked at it. I think centering everything and padding in the sides of the main text <div> would eliminate this I personally tend to prefer more monochrome sites as I find them easier on the eye and the pictures appear a lot brighter - leeson's site is one of my favourite designs at the moment , the mid grey really brings out colour in the photosand it's comfortable reading in low light (like when im at work)The good news is that the site did not piss me off - this is very rare in novice built sites (I hate all websites as a rule anyway). You've kept it simple and clean which is the most important thing to do when trying to flog stuff to people.Theres a million things you could do to improve it but there are billions you could do to royally f**k it up. IMO it's a good start - you just need to work on the readability and layout a bit. Which is hard if you're only just learning the ways of HTMLconstructive ? i hope so - i had to type it on a bloody laptop
