Urpedigreechumdog
They look less pixie stylee, i'd be more inclined to buy 2006 ones than earlier models.

spunkey_monkey_boy
manufacturing costs may be low but transportation and retail costs are not. at i guess they probably cost the importer half the retail cost so about £40 but this may be as high as £55 depending on the agreement, you then have tax to pay (twice, once when bought and once when sold). the retail tax is on the full rrp so even if the retailer sells them for £50 the taxman still wants 17.5% of the £78. you then have website costs, storage costs, advertising, money tied up in stock etc etc etcyeah they're ugly shoe's, yeah they're expensive but we've all seen when you try and do it on the cheap (yik), they were £65 and didn't last too well, when phil started chuckin them out at £35 they were worth buying but at that price he made no profit at all and when you work out the storage and advertising costs they probably ended up costing him money to get rid of!be happy your not a retailer, everyones against you
Mat Smith!
They look nice, would be better if they were 30 odd, instead of 80 odd..Just ride in trainers, its reet Mat
manuel
anyone who forks out for them is a deluded fool.
Rob_P
I can safely say i'm NEVER EVER going to fork out £80 odd of the hard earned for a pair of ridiculously looking trials shoes.......or any trials shoes for that matter. They all wear out to fast, looks crap and are too damm expensive. Rather spend half that on 2 decent pairs of trainer/skate shoes that will look/feel better and do a grand job at gripping. Yeah fair enough for ankle support and all that crap, meh Edited March 24, 2006 by Rob P
Joe Papasnap Maher
Yer....i understand...But i just got my pair of orchids through today £30, f**king bargain...Amazing shoess.......why would i possibly want to spend like another £50 on a shoe that wont even last as long...? Bendee
id pay that for another set over and over again thats my opinion they are alot nicer to ride in than skate shoes couldnt careless if you didnt like the look of them take a look at the bikes we ride ffs.just to add ive had my ribos for allmost 2 years now and they are fine no rips holes or nothing tiop notch shoe.i personally think orchirds are terrible shoes along with all skate shoes big ugly and you get no feeling from the pedals great for bmx but for trials a big no no for me. JT!
Been though 2 pairs of ribos now, and i can honestly say they're shit. They're just something to ride in and not really a shoe.
joshywa
im definatley glad i bought inopias now ! £33 for a shoe that i love the look of and fell awsome to ride in. Not a peice of plastic with buckles at £80. How ever nice they feel to ride in i wouldnt pay that much joshywa
Mark W
First things first, to the person who reported this thread (you know who you are ), use your head ffs. If only mods are going to see it, what's the point in trying to be 'funny' or whatever? Anyway, again, I wouldn't pay that much for that a pair of shoes I was solely going to use for riding in. From the sounds of things, they don't even last much longer than BMX shoes (note: BMX ones, not skate ones...), and I can wear them everywhere, like to work, out to the pub, riding, stuff like that. Just better value for money, really. I suppose if you've got the disposable income to splash the cash on something purely to use whilst riding go for it? Pity they don't make trials shoes that don't look utterly shit though.
Rob_P
WHY!!! the hell did someone report this ffs any thread on any new part, weather it be from the manufacturer or not is gonna be reported soon. Also the soles are so thick way thicker than my DC's making it feal like ur riding with a brick on your foot.IMO not what there described as.. - Slighty harder soles than found on normal skate shoes to resist your evil pedals!- The soles are also a little thinner than found on skate shoes, for maximum bike control and feel.Ime not gonna fork out £80 for some "trials shoes" when on top of them I need some casual shoes.Ime defo gonna be buying skate shoes . Luke Drewery
I payed £70 for my try-alls and I am impressed with them, dont think I would buy those Ribos though, mainly because they dont go up to my size! I think they look quite nice actually, better than the try-alls but they would look even sillier to the untrained eye as they are silver. Instead of pixie boots they look like some kind of space/alien shoe. I think the reason trials boots are so expensive is because there arent many manufacturers of them. joe b
There like batch produced shoes maded for about £1 ago...and then sold for £78.Joe, they're hand made! And to be honest i think they're quite nice, wont look as dirty as the silver ones! When i saw the picture of them on the 'trialsman' advert at the top of the page ^^^ i thought they were like high heels, and just a piss take! Just squint your eyes a bit and they look like a high heeled Ribo!Cheers,Joe. Edited March 25, 2006 by joe b
