dabomb
I remember my mum and dad going on about the "MODS and ROCKERS" (im 25) and the thought occurred to me, rather than the mods and rockers on their Lambrettas and rockers on the BSA's. Why don't we have or put in to place a MODS and STOCKERS Competiton/ride anything. I apologise if this is old news but i thought the older generation of us would have a laugh at this.Let Me Know What You Think.Jim..

poopipe
i dunno about a riding comp but i'm up for a massive knife fight in brighton.
Endohopper
At the risk of showing my age ... I know exactly what you mean , but I'm unwilling to reenter the debate about 20" Vs 26 " . Mods and rockers were perhaps one of the first rival groups of youth culture in Britain ( late 60's ) , distinguishing themselves by clothing style and affinity to motorbikes and / or cars . There are parralels to be drawn with the modern concepts of Goth , skater , chav etc .

dabomb
Thanks for clearing that up i think it needs the older gneration to have a laugh about this. I dont want to enter the argument of 20 v's 26 but as the thought crossed my mind i thought it be funny to see what you all thought, obviously the younger genertaion asking what Mods and Rockers are please look above, it was a massive culture as explained and i thought it nice to relate this to our time, Jim

DAB
There are no parallels between the mods and rockers of old because they were at each others throats, a turf war if you will.... if we take on the ethics of mod's v's rocker's today they would be a complete separation, mod's only riding with mod's stock's only riding with stock's, and if ever the twain should meet there would be war .......What next? gangs of trials riders looking for the next groups of outcasts??? lets go pick on the skaters.... the bmx'ers..... see how that go's. Luke Rainbird
As a slightly older member (only 18 but still, on this forum...) I know what you're on about with the whole 'mods and rockers' thing, and think the 'Mods Vs Stockers' ride/comp sounds like a good idea. Perhaps not in an aggressive knife-fight way but (with the risk of people getting a little rowdy at the whole mod/stock thing) could make for an interesting session. One thing - what about us 24"? Simpson
you can draw parrallells in a way if you have toMOD - its like the new fashionable "hard" crew - like chav's skin ed's e.t.c. but MOD's were clean - wanted bling suits polo tops "propper" shoes - Lambretta racing scootersRockers - like the grundger greebo - greesy bikers - leathers - usually covered in oil from work on bikes considered dirty - long hair - and 350cc bikes and like big british machines.hope i got it right im only 16 afterall sounds like a good idea but everyone knows MOD is too easy lol
