Dr. Nick Riviera
I also have problems with my gapping, I can't do over 6ft without being really, rim dentingly harsh, and i am on just over 7ft when i go for my record length gaps when i get home i have to use the adjustable spanner to straighten out the dents, and this is with a ronnie!EDIT:Its just pissing me off really, and i just can't get them working well, im smooth at rolling gaps, but not staticall harsh gaps are from my static gapsnot forgetting ash , you arent the biggest of lads so you shouldnt be to harsh anyways.try using the motion of a rolling gap but from static. when i was learning i found myself jumping forwards instead of up and forwards

Greetings
I've been trying to change my technique last year to what you have presented here and I managed. Had the same "problem" as you. Consider watching august18 video (TRA on XTP), that was my inspiration for when I practiced. Basically jumping from the edge is good when you do a drop-gap, yet a normal gap or an "upwards" gap had better be done from the edge too. This gives more power, bla bla bla...Don't really know how to help, because after changing to this technique my pedalkick became quite poor. Still it's easy to learn on a stock bike and from you're avatar I gather that that's what you ride. Just get onto the edge of the wall and jump before you hit the pedal. Its all a matter of timing.
