How To Adjust Hope Mono? How Do You Remove The Pads?

Recommended Posts

I have just recieved my new Hope Mono Mini but it didn't come with any instructions.

I have fitted it onto my bike but I can't figure out how to adjust the brake pads and move them out. So could someone give me some advise on how to do it please?

Thanks a lot,

Sam

It's an open hydraulic system, so you can't.

If the caliper won't fit onto the disk, remove the pads and use a screwdriver to push the pistons out. Once you start riding the bike the brake should adjust itself so that the pads sit just off the disk. Having a faced disk mount really helps too.

Just take out the pads and you will see two silver pistons on ether side. Just get a screw driver and push them back in. Don't be scared to use some force though, you won't break them :) .

Edit: damn im slow :S

Ok cheers guys I will just go and try that now. :)

What do you mean by a faced disk mount?

Thanks,

Sam

You need a disc mount facing tool, basically just makes sure the disc mount is totally straight and flat so the caliper can be set up properly, your local bike shop should have one.

As for adjusting the disc, look on the hope website for instructions. To move the caliper left/right you use shims (washers).
