I have snapped my king axel and have only just realised. I must of been riding it snapped for a while. I know people have said you can ride it broken. But will I f**k anything else up by doing this??

Cheers for the advice :D

it depends totally on where its broken.............

ive ridden a few broken for some time, you can often get away with it, although i did have one that was broken and i continued to ride it, and sadly didnt realise it broke AGAIN although this time across the bearing race on the driveside, which ended up costing me £90 to get fixed..... not so good!

if its not where any bearings come into contact, and you can still keep the bearings tight, you should be ok!

if it's snapped in the middle then deffinately not, the preload will go from the hub and the hub will probably start to skip, this could 1. damage the hub even more 2. damage you when you go to do a gap and it skips and you end up falling

best getting it replaced now or you could be paying more money for new internals for the hub and more money for a new helmet

Its ok, Im finished now anyway. :)

I dont know where it is broken, the non drive side silver bit just fell off when I undone the wheel so there somewhere. I have already ordered a new standard one anyway, I just wanted to go for a blast tonight.

Cheers for the advice though.

My standard axle broke just under the tightening collar thing. I only noticed because my hub was skipping quite a lot. So yeah, it can cause the hub to skip. But if it's not skipping then I'd say it's fine.
