Heatsink
Hi,I've got a tensioner that I need to double check fits ok onto a 3D type dropout, and the Echo Control '04 is a perfect example of this.Is there anyone out there who could take a card cut-out of the design and take a side on photo of it fitted horizontally? I need to be sure that it doesn't interfere with the drop outs when mounted like this. Free pairs of pads would be made available if the reward of helping nail this design wasn't enough.Hopefully I can get this sorted out in the next couple of days - card cut out is ready to send.Steve

Heatsink
Hi Ian,This would be very useful I've had some PMs from riders with other 3D type dropouts who have had experiences with them getting in the way of tensioners. I'd love to widen the checking to various other frames too. Please feel free to PM me about what frame you have and if you let me know a postal address then I'll pick out a good selection to send cut-outs to. Candidates must have a working digital camera and know where the Macro button is!SteveI'd be happy to do that for you, i have a control 04 I can pm you my address if you want me too?Ian

Waynio
Steve i had problems with mine fitting my "Caisso" as i had to "space" it away from the dropout for it to fit.cos the dropout stands quite well proud.il offer the template i got up to it, but im sure its not going to fit the "3d" drop outs.Waynio...............................EDIT: its the back bit that doesnt fit on my Caisso steve not the front, the long arm @ the front where it is near the chain stay is fine its at the back like "behind" where the tensioner fits on, the very back bit of the drop out with it being "3d" and it rises up and outwards it stops the tensioner going back enough to tension it "correctly" when the nut or Q/R is tight. Caisso has 385mm stays and with a kmc kool chain on 18-16 ratio, the chain is either too short, or if run long it doesnt tension it correctly iv tried everything, the other way i was going to try would be "16-14" ratio, that could possibly work, but as i say i havent tried it, the new echo control (i think) dropouts are like mine "3d" style Edited March 21, 2006 by Waynio
Heatsink
I would love to see some photos of the rear issues with the drop outs Wayne - Here's the other end that I was originally thinking of:Steve i had problems with mine fitting my "Caisso" as i had to "space" it away from the dropout for it to fit.cos the dropout stands quite well proud.il offer the template i got up to it, but im sure its not going to fit the "3d" drop outs.Waynio...............................EDIT: its the back bit that doesnt fit on my Caisso steve not the front, the long arm @ the front where it is near the chain stay is fine its at the back like "behind" where the tensioner fits on, the very back bit of the drop out with it being "3d" and it rises up and outwards it stops the tensioner going back enough to tension it "correctly" when the nut or Q/R is tight. flipkickbs
I've taken photos of 3 different tensioner positions, Even at the tensioners extremes, it does not seem to be obstructed by any part of the dropout, or frame. Photos: [attachmentid=2931] [attachmentid=2932] [attachmentid=2933] Don't worry about the hanger bolt not lining up properly, its badly out of shape, but the tensioner is the correct size Hope this helps you.
