Shaun H
Had a bit of a fall the other day and smacked the back of my head rather hard on the pavement. Luckily my Havoc did it's job and I'm still alive however the impact ripped out the left hand Roc Loc fitting (just above the ear). I've bodged it up so I can still ride (albeit a little more cautiously) but obviously I'm gonna need a new helmet.Looking at getting either a 2004 Havoc again for £29.99 as mine's been awesome, or for more than double that I've been looking at the Xen for £74.99. It's going to be used for trials (obviously) and freeriding (nothing completely insane but some dh runs, smaller jumps drops etc). For now I'm swayed towards another Havoc as to me the Xen doesn't seem to offer that much more protection for the extra mulla and the ventiallation isn't going to match. My parents are lending me £20 towards it as it's protection so they want me to get a new one sharpish etc so with the Havoc it would only be costing me a tenner but obviously it makes every other option a little cheaper.Opinions please and if you want to feel free to throw any other helmets into the mix.Cheers, Shaun
Janson
my xen is so much better, more comfy, cooler and better looking than my old pisspot and my old met atomo helmet. the xen is such a lovely fit, really snug and nice on the head, not on top of it like some met helmets ive tried.just don't get the white camo one like me, it's reserved for us snow riders
Tomm
If the Havoc fits, and you liked it, I'd be tempted to just get another. The xen will be a bit lighter and a bit better-ventilated, but that's about it. Having said that, CRC have some slightly cheaper Xens (the old ones). Matt_Tupman
We got a few Havocs in work the other day and they are no way near the quality of a Xen. I didn't reallt like the fit and the strap position is a cheap.Get the Xen or an E2
Waynio
Xen has roc loc 4 which is the best and most comfortable roc loc system.Havoc has roc loc 3 or 3.1 dependant on which model you get (last years or this years etc)the havoc strap and lock system is made from a "harder" plastic therefore it digs into your head a little bit, iv found when trying them on in the shop but the roc loc 4 is spot on, its like having a leather set tee on you head (ok well maybe not but it is comfortable )Waynio............................ Shaun H
Xen for 64.99 in my size in matt black. Soooooooooo tempted! If you've tried both Wayne and you're absolutely certain Roc Loc 4 is far superior I think my mind may be made up... But it's so much more money lol Ah well I guess it's a safety investment Anymore ideas people o' TF
