MikeCottTrials
When people ask you what your hobby is or something a long those lines and you say trials, the next question is obviously whats trials . so what are you meant to say? if you try to describe it, then it sounds shit. personally ive given up and just say i bmx but is there a better way? c'mon tell me
Mr_Pitbull
Make a website full dedicated to the description of trials. Make over 1000 mini information cards saying "Check this site for all the answers to your question"They will go on the site and be like "ok"

Euro Braker
I say its a version of motobike trials ( normally they no what that is) and if they dont get that then I would say its like bmx but they are specially designed for jumping off walls and going up them....... You know what I mean. If all else fails then say its a mountain bike for jumps and stuff.

flipkickbs
Just tell them it's a secret exclusive club for people with an IQ of over 23, and who have shares in monty bikes. I'm sure they will be so intrigued by that that they will research what it is themselves. Ian
DAB
It,s easy just say "trials is a sport where by you take ones bike and try to ride it over any obstacle that befall ones path, ie: be it a wall, rock, tree, bench or car" If they still don't get it kill that person so they they don't have a chance to pollute the gene pool any more ps: say that you have never heard of football.. that always gets a good response try and get them to explain that, and look all puzzled and say " that sound like a big waste of time, hope they don't charge to watch that"

Sam Nugent
Quote from Bike Trial UKBikeTrial is the ultimate test of a rider's skill. It is Britain's fastest growing area of mountain biking, and has really grown in the past few years. It features spectacular moves on courses which are hard to walk across, let alone imagining someone riding a bicycle through! A biketrial competition usually consists of two laps of ten observed sections. Riders must make their way to each section in order, though they're only judged within the observed sections. In each section the rider has to follow a set course under, over and around whatever obstacles have been put in the rider's way. The aim is to ride the course without the rider putting their feet down, and each touch - or 'dab' - is penalised with one point. As if that wasn't hard enough, each observed section must be completed within a two minute time limit. If you look around the web, quite a few other sites have detailed explanations of definitions of trials riding, I will have another look later and if I find more, I will edit my post Sam

Clawz114
ok, we definitely need to create a description of trials...BikeTrial is the ultimate test of a rider's skill. As if that wasn't hard enough, each observed section must be completed within a two minute time limit.that is way too long, by the time you have got halfway they would have fallen asleep or gagged you. so why dont we all put together stuff and make a SHORT description, say...1 or 2 sentances, 1 would be best... trials is a sport where by you take ones bike and try to ride it over any obstacle that befall ones path, ie: be it a wall, rock, tree, bench or carthat was pretty good, but maybe it could be changed a little, maybe....... trials is a sport where by the rider of the bike trys to negociate himself over all obstacles in his path using hopping a balance without placing a foot onto the floor... how about that?Clawz Edited March 18, 2006 by Clawz114
