Gaz M
i have a new headset its all good all right bits etc, headtube isnt flared, but when i put it all together it rocks looads, like its super loose and to stop it rocking i have to do it up very tight, the kind of tight where it hard to turn, i thought it could be the bearings bedding in but ive ridden it for a day now and nothings changed. ive checked the bearing there not upside down or anything (also tried them upside down but to no avail) all of the rock is at the bottom at the crown race, non is at the top. just wondering what it could be
Jaffacakes
It could just be that you haven't set it in tightly enough, try puting a clamp on it and tighting it up a bit.I have been running mine for a few weeks now with about 11 bearings in it . Mooore!
Is the part that slides down onto the crown all the way down? What did you use to get it to the bottom? Or could it be a rubber o ring thats popping out of place when you tighten it?
Gaz M
used a hammer to get it to the bottom, pretty sure thats all the way down, and the plastic o ring is finejust checked. crown race is on fine. it must be a clue to someone that it only happens at the bottom, its like theres something missing but there isnt
