Loctite

Greetings

Recommended Posts

Any ideas on how to use it? I've tried putting some loctite on the screws and then letting it dry, but after 30 hours they're still wet. Screwed my disc in with loctite on the screws, but that doesn't work either - 24 hours and I can easily undo them :ermm: Deffinately the right stuff, Loctite 243 which is a medium strength thread lock.

preperation is probably the most important thing, the cleaner the threads, the better.

get pleanty of degreaser on there, give it a good scrubbing with a toothbrush, then wipe, and leave it somewhere to dry out properly.

then simply add the loctite, screw it up nice and snug, and leave to dry over night.

that should sort it,

Alun

could you use super glue? :ermm::-

tom tom

note: dont suggest that on nmc

i did, but as my hubs are new they love getting loose and i have to remove the disc to get at the tightening cap. super glue is just too strong, already had several problems with unscrewing and damaging the heads in the process

thanks for all the replies, i'll give it another go and see what happens (Y)
