Hi there

Think its all about waiting really, ive been waiting ages as well, and followed the rules but nothing has happened but Hey!.

Cheers joe

i think there should definately be a better system, like a certain amount of posts, flags your name for review from a mod

No.

I'm not even going to bother explaining why.

This system is perfectly fine. Fine that is, if you go about it properly. People have been validated in under 6 hours on numerous occasions, and i would think average validation time if you put effort in is easily 3, maybe 2 days.

Not so much that, just that I didn't know whether people would want some stuff put up in general. After Dave being all pissy about me putting up a post from him in the Drunk Thread, I've learnt to be careful :P

Anyway, it's often luck of the draw as to how quickly you get validated, simply because it relies on people and not an automated system. Therefore, some times of the year it's going to take longer, some times less, and it'll vary day to day too.

I'm tired and can't think any more.

at the end of the day the way the forum is run is rather pathetic and childish. if users want to join the board in order to get involved in it and get help advice etc they shouldnt have to go through a silly joining process. if people are seen to be acting in a maner otherwise in accordance with good forum ways then the moderators can get rid of them.

at the moment theres "pre-members" who are unable to post in the for sale, unable to post in the rides etc who may have been members awhile. how is this helping trials or progressing the sport, it just gets peoples back up. personally i dont care, but i can understand how people get annoyed.

I think that says everything, just wait your turn.

ok i agree with just wait and all that, but its really hard when you are in desperate need of a new back wheel, or something like that...you are short of money...you find a wheel on the for sale section but they dont have their msn address on their profile, you post loads of stuff to try and get validated and you have to just sit and watch as the part you needed so badly gets sold away to someone who is already validated. :( i dont know how the system works, but it seems that most people get validated so maybe i am just one of the few...if the system is perfectly fine then im not going to argue with that, i just want to talk to people not run the forum

You havn't been here long enough to see the chaos that idiots 'cause if they have access to the whole forum straight out the bat.

The system is there for a reason, and there is countless demonstrations of when users join and 'cause havoc just in New Members, i would hate to think of the chaos they would 'cause if they had access to everything.

How can you say that when you've been here.....What? A month or so?

As Simon said, if there was no valiation system the forum would be a shite place to be because of all of the people who join just to post shit could post anywhere which would make the Mods/Admins jobe a lot harder than it already is.

It's not even particularly hard to be Validated. A few people I know of on here have been validated with only one post! I think it was Fatmike and Nick Carter that made an account called Santa Clause to show people how easy it is to get validated and if I remember correctly they got validated within 2 posts and under 2 hours.....

it makes no difference weather people post shit in a "members only" area or a "pre members area"

if people are posting shite theyre posting shite. warn them then ban them like most other boards do (not trials related)

this is the only board i have been on with a process like this. what in essence you are saying is that any shite is being filterd to the pre members area through a member system filter. it seems to me that the pre members area has more activity than the members area. if the process is in place to stop people "causing mayhem" why cant moderators just ban people who are distasteful? dosnt make sense to me im afraid.

as for being here a month or whatever, thats got no relevance im making an observation thats all, like i said earlier i dont really care i hardly come on here, im more interested in riding my bike than talking about it all day

I know a way that just might get you validated :shifty: go HERE! and vote for the trials park. :-

.

Voted hope you get your trials park mate although i will not be seeing it :( it should be good for the sport so thats all that counts i surpose (Y)

Back on to the topic i have been a new member for a much longer time than you and you don't see me making topics like this, thats because i have seen many people try and fail misarably (sp) so just keep on doing what you are doing and you should get validated in no time :)

Thanks rickyb

"For example. If a pipe in your house burst would you rather have only 1 room flooded or your whole house?

It's pretty much the same with the forum....."

id probably try plug the leak before it spilled over to the whole house and degraded the structural stability.

anyway all im saying is i can understand peoples anguish over wanting to use forum facilities, all in good faith etc and being unable to due to beurocratic procedures. fair dos keep the procedures but maybe keep an eye on validation a bit more closely so to avoid any unsavory comments by pissed off members.

And most other boards don't have an as clean main forum area.

it seems to me that the pre members area has more activity than the members area.

Because what we have spread over 5 sections, you have in 1.

You must also understand that the average age here on trials-forum is about 15/16, most of whom think text talk is acceptable, as well as spamming with general immature bollocks and non thought out posts and threads. I'd rather this all be in one section where its not only easier to see people who put the effort in, but also easier to get rid of those who will consistantly 'cause a problem.

Also, dont get me wrong, i understand completly what you are saying, but out of 400/500 odd new members, i find it pretty acceptable that only 2 or 3 aren't getting validated when they should. As you say, you would prefer to ride your bike rather then talking about riding your bike, as i'm sure the administrators and moderators do too, hence sometimes some people don't get validated when they should, but instead of complaining, just post more and they will get noticed soon enough. Obviously it isn't acceptable for 2 or 3, but those 2 or 3 must see the bigger picture.

thats fair enough, as a suggestion though, maybe consider validation a bit more frequently than at present, or at least give pre members who seem to be disgruntled about the subject some idea on how to behave as to get validated.

anyway thats enough from me on the subject.

Validation occurs on an "as is" basis. If a New Member is seen to be validation worthy, they will get validated, or a Senior will nominate them to be validated in a thread in Senior Member section of the forum (as posted by Mark).

or at least give pre members who seem to be disgruntled about the subject some idea on how to behave as to get validated.

Read my edit of my post up one. :P

you remember when those kids signed on and created like 30 topics with-

"you bikers are pricks"

"simon sucks cock"

"the mods are wankers"

yea..............

that is the reason of new members. you need to prove yourself first. we dont want to buy or sell stuff to you with no clue who you are members do stuff for each other some people send stuff without waiting for cheques to clear, (may sound totally stupid) but some people do it

and king kenny or whatever........... your just a twat - the type of person that would question democracy and join a terrorist regime thinking you could beat the system and its corruption and blah blah blah "the world will listen to me if i just carry on being a moany f**k"
