mat hudson
hey lads, i'm thinking of getting a gold rear hub to go with the front one, i would be running a tensile freewheel on it when they come out. at the moment the only ones i can find are the echo ones. not so good maybe . i'v heard a few horror stories. anyway, are they actually any good. or alternativley, what other coloured screw on hubs are available? cheers, mat! mat hudson
might be on stocks then, but i heard the axels snap and bearings generally die all the time.
spunkey_monkey_boy
might be on stocks then, but i heard the axels snap and bearings generally die all the time.davetrials killed one of the axles but he rides 24/7 and kiss everything so no supprises there!the stock ones also could do with a steel upgrade but i've been running one for a while now and think its great... chrishayton
how about the new hope single speed hub? seems a good idea for single speed and that way you dont need to buy a freewheel

chrishayton
hope singlespeed, not in stock yet though( sorry i thought it was). wow this a long link. i might carry on for a bit. the hope single speed sounds a good idea. you ride stock yes? if so why not just get a hope pro 2 trials? and stick spacers on? there we go. link over!LINK MEEEEEEE
mat hudson
hope pro 2 will be expensive, otherwise i would get one
chrishayton
hmm i supose but after a rear hub and freewheel you ll be near 100 quid so spend the extra getting a hope, they are seeming to be rather good
mat hudson
hmmm, nah. cos i'll have to get a surley cog thats 20 quid, and a spacer kit, thats a 10er, so then i'll have ended up waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay overbudget

I think one or two people on OTN have killed the axles too, and they aren't necessarily 24/7 riders, and they didn't take too long to do it, I don't think.
