I think you should tighten it up :D

Crank bolts come loose fromt ime to time, put some locktite on it or if it keeps coming loose the BB threads might be dodgey.

I dont understand how bad threads on the bottom bracket(i'm assuming you talking about those that screw into the frame as there are no others) can effect the cranks coming loose, care to share?

Dude!!! tighten them up, before they get anyworse, if not they will end up like mine, and mine spin about half way round before they engage!, if it gets really bad apperntly you can use a coke can, cut it up and it you get it to the correct size wrap it on ur BB arm or inside your arm not too sure, but i dont belive this will work.

hope this helped

If your crank starts to round as in wobbling a bit but the crank bolt is as tight as you can make it, take the crank of and wrap some duct tape on the bb axle. Not to much but enough so your crank has to rammed on really hard by hand. When you start to tighten the bolt it kind of works as a washer and your crank won't wobble.

This happened with my onza crank but since I've used duct tape it hasn't wobbled at all. This bodge may not work for long but if it saves you money then its good enough for me (Y).

This happens many times to many people don't worry you are not the only one. This also could mean two things.

1)The crank is loose and needs to be tightened.

2) the crank is being rounded off. many people have this problem too. To stop this happening simply keep your crank arm lubed and tight. If this has already happened what you could do is get any drink can e.g sprite, coke lilt and cut it to the shape of the square bit where you join the crank to the bike, then with this inside the square bit push the crank arm on and there you go it wont do it. But make sure you keep it tight.

thought id ask in this thread....

i took my freewheel off today to tighten up the lockring etc, when i put it all back together and tightened the crank (pretty damn tight!) i could no longer spin the cranks.

Have i over tightened it? is it being pushed too far on to the taper?

Thanks
