bikerdude2006fr
Hey guys,My rear Creepy crawly is pretty much dead now, smooth, cracking ect. It lasted about 8 months, and was pretty good. There is no way i am paying for a try all tyre!! and another creepy is an option, but i was wondering what other tyres there are on the market..... I have heard of the luna tyre or something, and was wondering how much, wear rates, grip, and how it feels.Cheers
Dan6061
Lunas are shit. Don't grip. Whereas Crawlers are THE shit Or the new Monty 2.7s...?
Olly C
Luna's wear rate is pretty good, I've personally never noticed the difference between a so called grippy tyre and a non-grippy one? I hate it when tyres are sticking to the floor and making a noise when they roll myself, so if your like me there a pretty good option.I run the old monty tyres myself they are thin and the grip is meant to be ok I usually go for the cheapest set of tyres to be honest.Olly. Janson
but don't you run like 70psi, olly?
Walleee
My experiance is that luna's are less grippy than CC's. This was from riding one week on an off camber rock using a CC, tyre stayed on the rock, the next week, using a luna, the tyre slipped a number of time's making the same rock much harder....Thats just in my experiance, I'd say their wear rate is good, but I just dont like them. They feel funny too.
sex_on_wheels
In my experience with my old luna tyres they were really heavy i thought and were a biach to get off, on the + side they have a good wear rate, but they were not as grippy as creepy crawlers. Olly C
but don't you run like 70psi, olly? A clean 45psi My tyres only wear along the very middle line because there are so pumped, bike tyres were meant to be ran hard not half flat Wheels are for rolling!Olly. Walleee
that's unreal, 20psi would be too much for me....
Janson
haha, but trials is for bounce and grip for happy and fun? remember?trials is not bmx
Olly C
haha, but trials is for bounce and grip for happy and fun? remember?trials is not bmx Meh, I've always rode trials that way, If you've got the skillz to pay da billz then your tyre will grip whatever the pressure I used to run 85psi back in the day of running 20" wheel on my da bomb, but I've never run less than 30-35psi I find that if it drops below that my tyre fold too much when bunnyhopping or fold over too much on gaps or gaps to 90 etc, nobody likes to ride my bike due to those pressures Olly. Mark W
If your wheels ever touched rock or mud Olly, you'd notice the difference in grip To be honest, there's f**k all good tyre...um...age around for mods. Lunas are heavy and not particularly grippy, Creepy Crawlers are grippy but have shit pinch protection, wear really quickly and I *hate* the feel of the sidewalls, Try-Alls are savagely expensive and - if they're the same compound as the Creepy Crawler which I'm pretty sure they are - won't last that long either. That pretty much just leaves the Monty 2.7, which I guess might be worth a punt, as long as your frame can take it... Either way, sucks to ride mod. Here cooooooooooomes the stock train
bikerdude2006fr
Cheers guysWell it looks like another creepy for me then, no way am i paying for a tryall, and at a guess the monty will leave a crater in the bank!!!
Walleee
Will it? It's only a few quid dearer than the creepy crawler, for us in the uk that's the case anyway, not sure if it's differant for you.....Edit: I just read your sig, maybe just stay with the creepy if it hasnt given you too much hassle...
