The lemonade man
Ok, never had this problem before but I just bought a new wheel and my chain seems as if it needs shorter links to fit on it.Is this a common problem and are there any "short link chains" that would make it work and still fit on the front chainring? Guest
You should replace the chain and sprocket at the same time to avoid that sorta thing. It's cos they wear with each other.
The lemonade man
So, what do I do? New chain or new sprocket? The chain is pretty new, but to be honest I don't think it's just wear as the sproclet looks pretty new and the chain (just from what goes round the sprocket) looks as if it should be about a link shorter in total. Bit annoying this
Guest
I'm not sure I understand your problem, you might need to simply remove a link.Is it each individual link is too big? Are you still using the same Gear Ratio?
The lemonade man
Each individual link is too big, have tried about 3 different chains.I've not got a gear ratio at the moment as I've got no cranks on it

sUm
I'm no expert on the matter but it sounds as though you're not using the right chain. Some chains are designed to work with very small cogs (11t or less). I wish I could give you more information but I do know that some chains cannot be run on very small cogs. The lemonade man
Thanks guys, I'll take it to my LBS and see if they've got one to fit
JIX
Could be your sprocket is designed for a wider chain. The difference between 2/32 and 1/16 or what ever chains and chainrings are
