reading this there seems to be alot of people blatantly on one side or the other.

i think andrei is a great guy, i also get on well with fred and ben - i am not taking sides here just to clear that up from the start...

andrei knows the rules regardless of if they're shit rules or not - he knew what'd happen and he still rode the comp with no working gears.

fred/ben (whoever put the dispute in) did so because the rules were not upheld, as i pointed out to a number of people on sunday iolo wasn't alowed to ride his new frame at the comp because there are under 50 of them produced and it specifies in the biu rules all bikes riden must have come from at least 50 production frames. if you going to make iolo ride a frame he doesn't like as much because of a really petty rule then you have to highlight the fact that andrei was also not adhearing to the rules.

badboy - not sure who you are dude but your comment about scrutineering - if the club scutineer then they lay themselves open to lawsuits if they check a bike and then that bike breaks and injures the rider they could (if they were being a twat) turn round and say 'well they checked it and said it was fine therefor its their fault i'm injured'. if you wana take that risk maybe you'd like to organise the scrutineering for the rest of the nationals? or alternatively we could all be grown up about it and make sure our bikes either work and adhere to the rules or ride out of class.

all in all as wayne said - its tuff shit really, fred and ben dont have money to waste so spending £50 on a dispute certainly i'm sure wasn't the highlight of their day, andrei rode well to come first but should have sorted his bike out before hand or understood he was likely to get his results removed from the class.

oh yeah and how about everyone sops f**king bitching and waits for the biu result, after andrei collected his trophy he imediately turned around and shook bens hand knowing full well he had just put in a dispute against him, that shows andrei is a true sportsman and if he can be grown up and mature about it why the f**k can't the rest of you?

now log off and go ride...

aparrently master and elite riders are allowed to ride proto frames, but thats not the case in other categorys.

iolo went and built up his koxx a day before the trial to allow him to ride, yet he still won on a frame he's not used to, what a guy!

I aint gonna get too involved in the gear chat, but I made sure I had 6 working gears just incase...

so how come the same rules dont apply to others then? as in iolo?dont wanna drop him in it but he knows what im talking about

Yeah, I actaully spent money and time this year making sure i had 6 working gears, and to see the rule totally un-enforced is abit annoying!!

its too late to whinge now, you know the way the system works. you got a problem - enter a complaint within 30 minutes of the last rider handing in their punchcard! annoying or not you should have complained then not now...

yes you have to do it "within" a time limit, and pay £50 bucks!!!!

i saw alot of people with single speed BUT i will say majority was in "expert"

masters riders CAN rider prototype frames, and the production thing is completly true (ali c (Y) )

just like last year danny B was riding proto type "Limeys" (Y):)

yes i totally agree with what you said tom, andrei turned round and shook bens hand (Y):) that was spot on, i think what people should think is, i think andrei would HAVE known his bike did not have a shifter etc etc. but like ali c said, i make sure my bikes have 6 speed ONLY 4 brit rounds.

stan if you had of complained about Iolo having "singlespeed" you would have won and porter 2nd etc etc. but you didnt, you cant do it now its too late. but YES you could have done it, thinking about doing it now, is like, ye i want to do it cos someone in master did it :S i think it may be a few days late :Plol!!!!

Waynio........................

im sure people will be more "appreciative" of the 6speed rule, porter only put gears on as it was a rule and hes in expert and it was his 1st national. if you have a spare £50 and wish to report someone and you wish to do it, you can do it. but Masters/Elite riders it is more important to. its about who IS the best that year IN this country. im not and never will be :D hahaha but i enjoy riding my bike and been in the master class. i like having fun and "pushing" myself. and masters does that for me

dont see why you have to pay 50 quid (N)stans got plenty more rounds to show if hes the better rider or will it be iolo, the best rider will rise above as this bollocks no matter what happens (Y)

seriously this should be put to bed now :o

it's doing the sport no good

time to let it lie (Y)

what's done is done. ffs peeps rules obviously apply, abide by them or be prepared to be sent off (football again)

please for the sake of the sport and those involved, lets move on!
