Help, Brake Problems

right, before i bled it today, i encountered a problem. i could pull my leaver and it wouldnt do anything. I basically had to "pump up" my brake. after about 10 pulls of the leaver, it would work for about 5 seconds and revert to how it was originally. So i tryed a water bleed today, this didnt help and it still has the same problem. Please help..

Thanks Lee

I'm not too good on disc brakes but it sounds like you still have air in the system. So perhaps bleed it again.

I tryed that, i pumped the brake about...20 times to get all the air out, then i redone just to check, there isnt any water. So i am really confused!

Thanks from Lee

you might have air in you brake and heed to bleed it right.... and don't use water......

To bleed it properly....

Fisrt empty the brake and get all the water out......

take the pads out and turn u,r wheel round so the disc is on the other side of the fork so i won't get oil on it!!

stand the bike up and make sure the lever resivoir is flat..

take the cap and the menbrane off..

put a piece of pipe on the bleed nipple on the caliper and turn the nipple so it is open.. (only about 1/2 turn.

then slowly put new blood in the resivior on the lever and it should start going down in to the brake..

keep toping it up till there is fluid coming out of the pipe.....

when there is fluid coming out of the pipe slowly pull the brake lever in then lock off the bleed nipple...

make sure the resivior is full and then slowly let the lever out..... (the fluid should go down).....

then let off the bleed nipple off again and repeat the the lever pull and release about 6 times to make sure there is no air.......

when u'r sure there is no air coming out of the pipe! lock off the bleed nipple, top up the resivior and replace the membrane and cap.(when you put the membrane back on there should be a bit of spillage to make sure that you don't get any air in the resivior)

Clean pads and refit... make sure the caliper and disc are aligned and that should sort you out....... :)

and more probs and i can only say contact me :D or take it to a magura service agent.....

PS.. DON'T USE WATER IN MAGURAS..........
