mini
Hi looks cool mate. I think for the colour skeme you should do the outer and inner lines black and the inner ones poliched silver. Thanks from Stuart.
Dan6061
Make it wider
The lemonade man
Not really feeling the zig-zag design myself, and it looks a bit square if you know what I mean. If I was making it I would try and give it a more curved design. It looks good if that's what your into though
shucksmith1
dont realy know about selling will have to see how well they machine. if they turn out well i could make them to order. i could even make alterations that you suggest and make a one off for you, as its not realy that hard if you have the right equipment (despite what the actual bike manufactures will tell you). but obviously will need to get validated before i can sell anything.as for the polished inerds i cannot do that as i dont have the right equipment. could chrome it though.as for a more rounded design how about you do me a sctech and then it will be more aparent what your vission is.its wide enough to get a 2.5'' tyre in.nearly forgot i took the measurments of my friends monty. so i belive this current design will only fit on the rear of montys.cheers matt Edited March 12, 2006 by shucksmith1
jimbo20
hi, It looks pretty good, the thing is when you make it it is really hard getting the holes for the bolts to go through in line from the drilled holes in the frame. the reason i no this is that i made one and it was quite a task. Oh and an other thing make shure you have anough clearence over the back wheel.it is actually quite hard!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A nice desing though. cvtrial
Cool, but I'm getting by looking on it Don't think it would fit my bike anyway!
joe_eyre
Hi there I thin that design looks quite good actually. Also will proberbley be strong as well as there a triangles within the design as triangles are strong.Nice!!cheers Joe
poopipe
nearly forgot i took the measurments of my friends monty. so i belive this current design will only fit on the rear of montys.er,make slots instead of holes - then it'll fit more bikes
Heatsink
Another thing - that design is littered with internal corners. The CNC machining tool is cylindrical so it's impossible to make internal corners. You'll have to pop rads on them all and the bigger the better for optimum machining time. I'm sure the machining guys will assist you with this Steveer, make slots instead of holes - then it'll fit more bikes
Guest
aye, you'd need like a 1 or 2mm diameter tool to get them cuts, and even still you'd have chamfer's all over the place. it'sdefitaley differant, what monty frame is it that you took the measure ments off? it's might be possible to make it a 2 bolt design if the frame has the booster mounts on the back of the seatstays, and to be honest on monty's I prefer the boosted there... Infact I prefer the look of magura's without a booster.
shucksmith1
yeh its being done with a 3 mill cutter the first one is being made on friday in plastic just to make sure that the path is cool will post some pics of it though.cheers matt
JT!
Have you made a prototype, or done any re-seach into the general properites of boosters? To me it just looks like you have designed in on looks, and thought "Lets put a load of triagles in it because triangles are strong". There looks to be no real maths / physics gone into it what so ever, but please correct me if i'm wrong.Sorry - Just realised you not 100% intending to sell them, so what i said still stands but it dosn't really matter. cvtrial
Not the best, not the worst I've seen, but when is it coming out? I saw it was talking about a proto-type! is it out yet?
munch8987
Looks quite swish mate...not too sure on the zig zag part in the middlewould there be any chance of other models fitting other brands other than monty's?ben

shucksmith1
if you tell me the exact distance of you brake mountings then i can just adjust my design. also if you have an idea of you own you want making then draw it post it and i will have a go.the first prototype milling was done to day in plastic just to check mesurements and clearances. bear in mind i havent pollished it yeh as the pick was tacken fresh from the miller.sory the pic is so poor there was fook all lightcheers matt
