CurtisRider
righty, needing a low stack headset for my freeride bike, my headtubes quite long and my stanchions are a tad too short, so i need all the space i can get! my current set up is a fsa pig pro lower and a cane creek upper(mix and match of headsets ) and its silly high it seems anyway, which ones are decent? whats gonna last a reasonable time? i know they are deisgned for xc and dont have strength in mind but at least somebody can steer me away from the uber shite chers, paul
N.Wood
I bought the 'Cheapo' headset from Tart a wee while ago and seems to be working well.If my memory serves correctly in a non-drunkened manner, Janson had a similar problem and went for the cheapo.Anyways the headset's been fine and all cool. Only ten squid, too.Edited to make sense. Edited March 12, 2006 by N.Wood
Janson
oh my god your memory is spot on.i needed a low stack, so i went with the "THN industries for cane creek" cheapo one. I think tart sells the same. They're cheap, black, low stack and work great. They're not the smoothest but they're bloody strong, I've broken a fork and tapped the f**k out of mine* and it's still working well.Get one!*dented and flatspotted a d521 on taps to give you an idea.
