PaRtZ
Tom, calm down first and then smile But we live in a dispoable age. People have more disposable income to waste. No really they do waste it. People would rather pay for something cheap, let it break and then buy a new one thats the way sh!t happens. I see your point though, manufacturers seem to build things on that purpose, but charge the sort of prices that warrant something more reliable. I agree with that, I think a lot of things are overpriced. Koxx charging £70 for some shoes and ribo shoes at god knows how much (thats cousteiller isn't it? )Anyway Price wars!! Thats the future howies.co.uk - thats the way to run a business...Maybe, but Id still rather pay £3 for a t-shirt than £

Mark W
to be fair everyone knows i prefer steel bikes like leesons curtis and iolo's...blah...go back to simple, 8 tubes all welded straight onto each other and leave the CNC machine to make ornaments... As well as the other post on p1 about prefering simple tubing? Maybe THAT's what people were going from, Tom?
IOLO
is it just me or are bike companies now designing frames just to look good? what was wrong with the classic old tubes that were welded together? why all the cnc crap???it is not possible for me to agree more, cnc stuff my ass.and i also think the headtube looks like it collects stress . BUT i havnt stopped to work it out properly cos the design of the frame hurts my eyes !iolo

JT!
Christ i'v never read so much whining dribble in all my life. And lets not forget all these comments are made without even knowing the geo for the frame.I agree the headset *looks* super dodgy, but if it was (which it might not be), it'll be changed in the 2 or 3 prototypes that onza always do to make sure the frame is spot on, and safe.So stop moaning. danny B
I love the way that no matter what the topic is, Waynio writes an essay which always ends up with "The new Koxx frame that I've got this week is worth every penny of the £700 it cost..." That was the funniest thing that i have read throughout the whole topic lmfao, this is the first time that i have seen this bike too it just looks like a mod to me lol, another mod that people have gone crazy with the cnc machine lol it just seems to be the trend with mods. but all in all it don't look that bad. Waynio
i do actually like it to LOOK at.but its just 13-18 year olds "Fashionable" item aint it?there aint ne whining, also why put a post up for peoples "opinions" if there is mixed feedback???? there is always going to be that. so for the people moaning about the moaning, stop moaning yourselves. its a forum as iv been told many of times. its full of way too many opinions to be "serious" if everyones opinions were right, then im afraid there would be wars going on. luckily its not. its all about good advice and info none of this bull shit. Geo plays a major part in how a bike rides. NOT how the bike looks. majority of people on here LIKE this frame of HOW it looks. no one has ridden one yet. Waynio.................... Simon
Any publicity is good publicity Aye, thats what i said to Mark too when we was discussing the thread on MSN. We also deduced it will actually help Onza, as no doubt this was a frame thrown together from a design in time for the show, probably wasn't even heat treated or anything, so no doubt if Onza read the thread and take in some of the better opinions, they might end up with something the majority like without spending loads on developing loads of frames to then find out no one wants them. And also as Mark rightly pointed out, most of the people in the thread wouldn't buy the frame anyway, if they liked it or not, so meh. steve sturt
Looks a bit "special." Another frame full of holes. Im going stick to my unique, innovative and highly original twin triangle design made from 9 tubes.
Mark W
but its just 13-18 year olds "Fashionable" item aint it? Would that be the same for the XTP's then? With the CNC'd headtube, CNC'd seat-stay join, CNC'd BB yoke? I wouldn't say it was a purely 'fashion' thing seeing as shitload of people hated the looks of the Hi-Fi and XTP when they first came out, so they wouldn't pump out a "fashionable" frame people didn't like the looks of, unless they thought it was better (which the FEA pics they put up showed it was?)? Mike Poyzer @ Onza
As some of the more sensible replys to this post have pointed out, this is a prototype and will undergo several changes. I have spent 2 hours with that frame maker today making improvements, which will be incorporated into the drawings and the next incarnation. Let me just say that without CNC machining and aluminium fabrication all frames would look the same and weigh a ton. What a boring world we would have then. One particular feature which I thought up today will be a huge improvement and would have been impossible without CNC machining. Thanks for any constructive comments and for all those like "bike rider" whose comments are worthless (we know he would burn a 50 pound note if it said Onza on it), why do you bother? As for all the comments about it being a copy, that really is rubbish. The centre, the dropouts and the front end are all totally new, so how is it a copy?I hope this posting comes out in English, not Chinese. poopipe
- not wishing to start a fight but .. new? Dropouts - i'll take your word for it - how much innovation can you put into a dropout anyway?Headtube junction - definitely new. It looks weak - even if it isn't - and that would put me (personally) offThe middle bit - er, it looks just like the pythong braces with different holes in - I think new is pushing it but we all know it works.anyway. ..Interesting new frame, I preferred the dropped chainstay one but I'm glad onza are being a bit braver with designs these days.I do wish they'd just release the t-pro with a CNC'd chainstay yoke instead of designing new frames though - I'm going to have to go koxx or echo if I dont want bendy bottom bracket syndrome, which is a shame because I like onza. Waynio
i was just saying it was "done" been and done. therefore mark your post is correct. JUST like the XTP 20" and 26" it has been done if people like the look of that kind of thing fair play. i do kind of like the idea of "flat tube technology" "monocoque" and such forth. if someone come out with a frame that was monocoque and looked more of a standard style bike (vinco BUT with lower b/b) THEN i would say WOW! what a sexy bike. cos monocoque is so nice different and has been done on the XC/DH/Freeride markter but not trials fully. just to clear things up. the looks side of all the CNC'd, Cold forged and stuff like that is "kool" looks "Rad" but everything is like that now, nothing is "old" skool. what happend to "square" tubed frames like Pace RC250T etc etc. the skool of bikes that were so "in genius" to us. i bought yesterday really cheap mainly for show a "GT Hans Rey 20ich" trials most people on here wouldnt even know what one of them is, but its so unique. its completly different to everything else, and like rocking horse shite. if anyone has one big respect it just means alot to me cos that for me is where and how trials sort of kicked off. YES it was a BMX literally modified with a BIG back tyre and stuff. its good that "innovation" and "technology" is on our side nower days, for the newer lads into trials all this stuff is awesum. but i personally love the old "different" looking stuff. cant wait to go to koxx days see if there is any new monocoque or square tubed bikes, it would be amazing if there were Waynio....................... Bendee
Thanks for any constructive comments and for all those like "bike rider" whose comments are worthless (we know he would burn a 50 pound note if it said Onza on it), why do you bother?Reet o course id burn the 50 pound note with onza on it, thats why i have tensiles, onza front wheel, your magnesium pedals, pazzaz bars, onza stem. You want my opinion on the frame ok..Headtube= what was you thinking start again on that one with echo and koxx they have made the headtube all in one but youve took a normal frame and created another weld point and a weak one at that.another thing why are you still using the internal balls ive never heard a good thing about it and know most would like the normal style alot better.Dropouts = as ive said in another post there to big, like the zona they are far to big and ugly, you want nice dropouts use the ones off the old team. The mess in the center= its a mess basically is there any need for the second 'bb' tube. same with the chainstay yoke just looks very cheap and horrible, a very lame effort indeed and that goes for the frame overall.Do you feel the need to copy everyframe that comes out because thats all you seem to do? when you made the limey you made a very nice frame and i mean that. take your time and make something NEW like your mod with the low chainstays its different, stop copying shit cus as youve proven many times your crap at it.youve been making frames for how long now? you should have some kinda idea what looks good and what doesnt. i personally cant belive youd even show pics of that, even if it is a proto that will never be made its embarising, and is obviously doing the onza name no good.
