Mr_Pitbull
Like an absolute twat i downloaded (from Limewire) a song compressed in a Zip folder, obviously my brain couln't generate enough common sense to realize that it obviously wasnt a song but yet a virus....sorry several viruses. The viruses are easy to find, when i open "My Local Disk" there all there, i managed to delete 6, but im left with 2 really f**king annoying ones: 1. Mousepad12. "oo"These are what the viruses are called, mousepad is a virus that slows my mouse down when playing online games so it makes out im super lagging when im not.oo is a detector stealing every single file i have and uploading it onto file sharing softwares etc (deleting Limewire will not help resolve this problem) It is prone to not being deleted by any virus software .Basically i need help.....Is there ANY downloadable search and destroy virus software that i could download that you would recomend for me.I have tried spyware but its useless. Also all my icons on my desktop are highlighted grey?? Mr_Pitbull
Right, I am in the process of download AVG free edition, as i found a topic recomending it. I know for a fact "oo" will not be deleted by it as i've had AVG in the past and it just reapeared every time i restarted my computer. Thanks for the help. Mr_Pitbull
Have you tried system restore? My mate came round and did it for me a few weeks ago, If worse comes to worst i will have to restore my computer again, but i have far too many videos and other projects in the making that i would just lose. the judge
System restore doesn't delete documents + vids etc, just the kinda softwarey type things. You can also choose when you want to restore back to i.e. you can just go back a couple of years, you don't have to reset it to factory settings
Mark W
Backup first, then do system restore?Or is it too raped to do that now?Alternatively, just google the virus names and see if anyone's made a patch. Generally there'll be something around

Jaffacakes
Download the virus scanner (or a few) then unplug your self from the internet then do a virus scan. Also go into windows task magager (CTRL+ALT+DELETE) and look what processes are running, if there are any viruses running then click end process.I did exactly the same thing mate smart stuff. flipkickbs
Doesn't matter what path you take to get to system restore as there is only one system restore. It should come up with a calender with restore date options which you can select. click an earlier date, then next. Ian

IanI can only restore it back to the 7th of March 22:47pm Which is absolutly pointless as my computer was just as f**ked up 3 hours ago as it is now lol . If i could restore it back to the 6th id it would resolve all my problems but i cant.
flipkickbs
obviously you/your comp, hadn't set any system restore points. So yea, not much use at all, If you know where the file is, then you could always create a partition in your Hdd, move the virus into there, then format that partition. GarkVert
I'm having similar sounding problems. Only the thing is, I haven't seen any solid evidence that I have a virus on my computer. That is to say that I never personally came across any virus on my computer. It seems to complain about errors and I am unable to run Disk Defragmentation, also, any online games run like an anvil up a muddy hill. I've used Scan Disk all the way through many times... bah! Any advice?
Lee Cable
Right, i think i know how you can delete these "pesky" virus's. First you will need to press CTRL+ALT and Delete. Next you will need to end the process's. Only end the virus ones. So this will mean ending mousepad1 and oo. When you have done this. Navigate to the virus's and right click on them. and goto proporties. Make sure the read only box ISNT ticked. If it is..untick it. now just rght click and delete. and Empty your recycle bin. if that doesnt work. Get back to me. Ill find a cure Good luckLee

geraldo453
hi, have you tryed downloading AVG free edition, or zone alarm ok but a bit competitive with other virus things like that. McAfee is always very good to use, it is a scanner, and it destroyes the virurs like BOOOMMM!!! straight away, it is what i recomend
