Zhi Bike

Recommended Posts

I thought zoo was chinese.

Yes they are, but zhi bikes aren't owned by Deng, as far as I know its yao-zhi's own company who used to ride for zoo. Thats why you used to be able to buy the pythons in a "short" version and its this short version which yao zhi used to ride. Well now that zoo have stopped making the short frames, yao zhi made his own company so that they could still be distributed

I don't know which happened first, yao-zhi leaving to form his own company, then deng stopped his zoo frame

OR

Deng stopped his zoo frame so he made yao-zhi bikes

Anyway, its happened :P www.zhibike.com but I STILL can't get onto it :S

It is the zoo but with different stickers. The only difference is the plating at the top where u sit down.I`ve got a zoo short. But in my eyes it`s not just a copy of the zoo because the zoo was yao zhi`s bike anyway.

Try E-mailing this company in Hong Kong 'www.biketrialstation.com', there e-mail's on there website. They have the 'ZHI' stuff in stock.

When i went to this shop, i asked how much it would cost to send a frame over to england, the guy said about $500 HK dollars, which is about £45-8? Not quite sure. So they may be able to sort something out for you.

Benny :)

in answer to the original question...

- ask someone whos got a short python what they're like cos the zhi will be mostly the same. Theres a few differences in the cnc bits from what i remember but thats about it.

its a waste of money importing one when you can get a short 05 python for 250 from tarty

To be honest whats the point in doing all these copies of other companies basicly everything that this "zhi" company sell is the same stuff as zoo just named zhi why do this its pointless the trials trade is going over board abit.

Why cant it be like it use to be in the old days pashleys and koxx man do i miss the old days

er, koxx frames cost twice what the Deng ones do and (apparently) snap twice as quickly. Thats what the point is.

Hmm the rumours are true then... there is a lot of bull and assumptions being made on TF :-

To the point... The Zhi ZM1 is not really a total Python copy, it's got the built-in-booster slightly altered and little bits changed etc. But one thing that is a pretty important change is the headtube angle, geometry's probably same as the short Python in terms of Wb, chainstay etc..

Only the first few seen in Zhi Vid 1 etc. are stickered up Pythons, the proper versions are qutie different. No doubt this headtube angle change is supposed to improve the ride of the ZM1 over the Python.
