CurtisRider
basically looking for some bars that are the same shape as the azonic doublewallsor at least some bars with 2.5 inch rise really-i seem to only find 2inch bars?what is there out there? doublewalls never inspired confidence with their snapping, and im not totally sure if singlewalls are the same shape? or reliable too?cheers, paul
Tony Harrison
I thought singlewalls were the same shape? Have you ever had doublewalls, or are you just going by other peoples' stories? I've had mine for 6 months now and they've been fine, 2.5" ones they are, with a good upsweep on them.
CurtisRider
yes ive had 2 sets now, hence knowing i love the shape, my first set started creaking after about 6months ish, and luckily i noticed a stress mark, so i soon took them off, the other set didnt fit my new stem, so i dumped them pretty quickly for ea70si heard singlewalls were the same shape, just wanted to check
CurtisRider
righty ive been searching, and cant find anything decent in that sort of rise, most are shite jump bars that are made of steel/made by crappy companiesso i guess i will have to go with azonicbut......theres a few versions (on crc):Azonic Double Wall £34.99 Azonic Double Wall DW £39.99 Azonic Single Wall £29.99 Azonic Single Wall WF £31.99 any difference between each version? i always thought dw stood for doublewall (which seems odd they mention it again) and wf for world force-altho through the pics-i cant see anything different? CurtisRider
cheers mike, but the link wont work for me? rooz bars are only 2 inch rise aswell i just remeber how perfect my bike felt with my old azonics, its nice now, but just hasnt got that same feeling! its not as easy to bunnyhop and stuff so i guess a 2.5 rise is what im looking for still
Tony Harrison
But not all bars have the same shape. My Azonic 2" bars are nothing like the 2.5" ones. The 2.5's have a slight up-sweep - even if I used the 2in bars with 0.5in of extra headset spacers it wouldn't feel the same.
011001000110010101110010
Ive had mine for about 1 month now and they are all fine. A friend of mine ran some for about a year until they snapped. I just keep taking mine out and giving them a quick check every now and then. rich4130
Get a set of azonic singlewalls. the wall thickness is much thicker than that of doubles, and imo they feel nicer, I ran a set I got off ebay for like a quid for ageeeeees and they were fine. Waynio
i think the colour of azonic bars does differ the "sweep" and rise a bit.for example Black DW have a really nice feel, 2" rise and rise upto the end the silver DW bars are 2" rise BUT flatten out and sort of curve back ever so slightly. iv got the bars in stock @ work, and going off me using them and chris using them alot, i tend to get a feel for them.have you ever "Snapped" a set???? or you just noticing stress marks????Waynio........................... A friend of mine ran some for about a year until they snapped. I just keep taking mine out and giving them a quick check every now and then.i would most certainly be keeping a close eye on them, i check over my bike frequently cos the last thing i want is my bike to fail on me when im ridingGet a set of azonic singlewalls. the wall thickness is much thicker than that of doubles, and imo they feel nicer, I ran a set I got off ebay for like a quid for ageeeeees and they were fine.im tempted by the singlewalls, as long as they are the same shape and all-nobody seems to complain about them as much? presumably the thicker walls mean they feel stiffer?i think the colour of azonic bars does differ the "sweep" and rise a bit.for example Black DW have a really nice feel, 2" rise and rise upto the end the silver DW bars are 2" rise BUT flatten out and sort of curve back ever so slightly. iv got the bars in stock @ work, and going off me using them and chris using them alot, i tend to get a feel for them.have you ever "Snapped" a set???? or you just noticing stress marks????Waynio...........................my silver and black bars both felt the same-i dont see why they would change the geo of each colour? surely thats just so people can colour match ive never snapped a set, a few people i know have-to be fair they were far harder riders than me, ive only had stress marks on 1 set, so dumped the bars before they snapped -id rather be safe than sorry (second set didnt get a chance to snap as i didnt have them long as mentioned before)i currently use 1.5 raceface diabolous bars, and they feel nice, just they arent high enough really
matt360
Hey, Sorry to sorta hijack your thread but... Does anyone know of any bars with a 2.5" rise and a 31.8 clamp size?Ta,Matt.
joker
go for the world force azonic risers, they are the re branded singlewalls, they weight a fair bit more than the dw, but they are stronger (according to Chris Smith) and will bend before snapping. Exactly the same shape as the dw.
