stiffnips
Hi there,I am having a little trouble with my cranks clearing my brake, i am currently running a try-all isis BB with try-all cranks on a black mumba (mod). Someone has already told me i should get a longer BB, but which BB would be the best for my money? (has to be isis) The brake is already mounted almost all the way in and the crank just about clears it, i have also had to mount it at an angle which i'm not happy about to be honest because i have just bought some new pads (thanks prawn) and i don't particualy want them wearing at an angle. So what i really need to know is the length of the BB i would need, i was looking at the new ko-bike BB could anyone tell me anything about that? This is how far the crank is away from my brake. This is how far the crank is away from my chainstays.Help would be appreciated.Cheers, Nick Edited March 5, 2006 by stiffnips
PaRtZ
I thin the size you need is 128mmAs for which one, (although I've not tested them) you can't go wrong with a trials specific one (echo BB, Koxx BB etc) My truvativ gigapie works fine although it didn't really fit in my frame
Swize
Are you running a freewheel/bash or fixed cog ?As for the Ko-Bike you are best off speaking to the man himself Mr Dan Ko ?

shovel
truvativ gigapipe dh 128mm axle gets round the crappy life of isis bearings by using 2 on each side to spread the load so bearings do last a little longer than some, nice and strong axle too! stiffnips
looks fine t me....? mine were closer..Thats with the brake pushed all the way in and at an angle (which has killed my pads after the first ride) just to clear the crank.Nick

No, Try-all do three different sizes (118,122.5 and 127.5).What sise is yours, or don't you know?It looks like you the same amount of room bewteen your stays and your cranks than i do. And my cranks are no where near my brake cylindars, and they're right out.

walker
I would definately go for an FSA platinum Pro 128mm, I had exactly the same problem with my old lb 20", got an fsa bb for £35 from CRC, its better quality than the trials specific ones.-Andrew
