i'm sorry but i'm a cynical b*****d and everytime i see anyone with a tattoo or a pericing nowadays i instantly think SCENE KID WANNABE.

its like EVERYBODY wants to be unique, but they can't actually think of anything unique to do.

people need to start using their minds and grow some f**king talent.

Im sticking to what Ozzy said

"You want to be different, Don't get a tattoo"

I know this may sound stupid but, i think its ok if someone has something with a meaning to them, I know thats what most tat's are but i mean like stars and tribal designs they don't really have a purpose other then to look good, When somebody can look good with the clothes they wear and a decent hair cut, So if somebody wants a tattoo of a star then fair enough its there skin, not mine, I personally like star tattoo's but wouldnt get one because when in 70-odd ill look at it like wtf did i do that for!!? Well, Anyway, I want a tattoo, and what i want will mean alot to me, others may see it as pointless others may understand where im coming from, Well to understand a little bit more, My dad was a fireman that was lost to cancer.

Im still deciding and have a little while yet to decide but i could either get this on my right breast:

Or i could get this on my right arm or in a different place:

I personally prefer the second one at the moment as the first one could look like the west ham hammers which i deffinately do not want it to do!

Anyways thats my little essay over.

i have this neat thing called a memory, its pretty good from remembering great times and other interesting facts such as historical events, laws, shopping lists, my name and most importanty, my opinions.

So I guess you've never used a camera to take pictures of things then, as you have this great memory?!?

I can understand why people don't like tattoos and think they're stupid, but to those people I say just don't get one, it's really that simple!

I've had some of my tattoos for 4 years, I have come a long way since then both mentally and professionally, but I still love them. If one day I decide I don't then you are all free to say "I told you so" and slap me, haha!

But as far as I'm concearned the fact that I might not like them when I'm 60 is irrelevant, Im not gonna look good naked when I'm that old anyway and the grey hair that I will have probably won't fill me with joy either! But for all I know I might drop dead tomorrow so won't have to find out!

Straight Edge Tattoo, got more planned:

Was wondering what that was yesterday, only saw the lower bit.

even better is the fact i got it entirely free, its completely out of view, and everyone has one, so obviously that gives me uber scene points with everyone else, which is important right...

Theres this neat thing called cue-dependant memory ie things you forget can be dragged up by a cue for instance Daves HIM tattoo or the guy getting the Pink Floyd tat done.

I'm thinking about getting a tattoo on my upper leg(thigh), consisting of the trivium logo, and 't' with a skull throught the 't' and a snake wrapped around it. Looks really ace imo, and as has been said, its a way of remembering my youth when i'm older. just working on the design at mo.

You have just opened yourself up to SO much grief mate:

"But you won't like them forever"

"You'll regret it when you're older"

"Trivium are sh*t"

"That's a gay tattoo to get"

"Oh how original"

"You're just trying to be cool"

"bla bla bla heard it all a gerzillion times"!

Just to warn you :P

I say fudging go for it, although I agree Trivium are sh*t, haha!

Meh, my decision, lets face it, its a bunch of people of a forum, everyone is going to have different views. People should respect each others opinion and there decisions.

Who cares what others think, your tattoo, not theirs (Y)

Well said :)

EDIT: o and i'm not saying i will like trivium forever, 'cos i might not, but like i said, i want a physical memory of my youth, and this is how i want it :turned:

to be fair, if you didn't care, you wouldn't of mentioned it at all.

It's a figure of speech, but to be fair the thread invites us to post pics of our tattoos, it doesn't invite us to give a sh*t what people think of them, haha! So like me he probably really doesn't care if you like them or not, but it's interesting to see!

Thought i'd join in as my tatto is finally looking decent.

Everyone say "hi Dave".

He was designed by myself and a friend and took a year to decide what i wanted and how i wanted it to look.

Don't like doing things by half, so went all out and got something big that can also look stylish with the tail hanging out by my forearm (less obvious to see when wearing a tshirt).

The head is faded as that was the original and was crap. The rest has been thickened out and had New Zealand mouri designs added in.

I love Dave and proud to have him. Was my choice and didn't rush into getting him. I want more but don't know what. More patterns and designs around him or just something new on the other arm.

Enjoy.

Surround that son of a bitch with colour and it'll be fantastic.
