Rob Thomson
And another...Yes I know I need some colour put back into certain pieces. Nae judging.Do places charge to sit down and chat about what can be done and review your ideas and do some kind of mock up ? And if so how much does that generally cost ? (I'm guessing they do charge for that kinda' thing ?) 99% of shops won't charge you for a consultation, unless they're "famous" and have a super booked calendar. I ain't come across a shop that charges for a consultation. Edited September 8, 2009 by Rob Thomson

Captain Scarlet
Got my Japanese dragon started last week, obviously needs more work and shading on it.I didn't know how the booking went with them, and as I was talking to a spaz of a receptionist she said "yea 2 hours will be fine", got there the next week the tattooist said it would be more of a 3 hours job. So he did all the outlining as quick as he could so he wouldn't have to re-stencil it next time.Needs another hour touching up the lines, then however long to get it shaded, still unsure for colours or whether to have it black/grey.Then looking to get it with wind bars, cheery blossoms, a coloured lotus flower on the inner bicep, and then work on moving it into a full Japanese sleeve.Pain wasn't as bad as I thought, but then again that's why I chose the bicep as a first tattoo. anzo
Whats the 'lifetime' of these inks? Surely they must fade over time? My Dad has a few down his arms from the 70s and they've faded pretty badly, although the advancements in inks probably means they don't fade so much, but who knows? Whats to stop that sonic one slowly merging into Dali's paint palette? I assume the more detailed the tattoo is, the shitter it'll look over time? Jake.
Speaking of Mario, my mates Mario sleeve... And he's wearing Captain American pants too! I was wondering... What do you do while during the long tattoo sessions?
Dan Clark
Sit there and have a chat with the tattooist usually.
Revolver
I guess you want to avoid making them laugh I wonder if you could rig a CNC machine to do tattoos? Purely from an accuracy approach, I guess it would be pretty boring doing a massive tattoo without the tattooist to talk to.
