planet-x-boy
I have had a Vinco since xmas time and cant tap to save my life. i have only really seen TRA tap but he can just adapt to any bike. Has anyone got any tips for me to try? Does anyone have a Vinco and can you tap it?Cheers Brett
Luke Drewery
Everyone can tap a high bb bike, you just need to hit the wall lower. It will feel weird for a while but you will get used to the technique. Just hit the wheel slightly lower than you normally would, then the backwheel wont be so tempted to loop from under you before you get chance to properly take off. Clarky
I think high bb bikes are harder to tap on but i can adapt yet a vinco would be a bit of a challenge..

I find my Adamant beter for taps than my rex, but a vinco is that much higher again so i dont know just hit the wall low and fast Kyle. AdamR28
I found that my super-high BB frame was harder to tap consistently on. However, I did my biggest tap ever on that frame, so it's not all bad.... I reckon a nice high stem (enough rise to match that on the BB) does a great job of making sure everything feels good.Adam
JIX
Interesting though, as dan jones (the only person I have heard of getting on with a hi fi) rode his hi fi with a lower than recommended stem and found it better than with a high one. AdamR28
I guess it depends how you want to ride. I found that with a low front end, I kept falling over the front especially when riding natural. It was also hard for me to tap low enough on walls... I guess its just what you prefer! planet-x-boy
Cheers for the comments lads. I use a koxx stem that is ment for the Vincos and now i use echo hifi forks as my koxx ones bent .I have tried hitting the wall lower and it doesnt seem to work. I have also tried hitting the wall i bit higher and find it works abit better but i still cant really get anywhere near enough height as i used to be able to.I will still keep trying different techniques etc but i dont think its going to work to be honest. It is a shame i cant tap it because i find everything else alot better than on my old frame (planet x).Anyway thanks for the comments lads
