MrSuave
........all i can think about when i saw this thraed is 'monty python'. lmfao....... Hes not the messiah, hes a very naughty boy........now PISS OFF!
Walleee
I wouldn't get a Monty tyre if i was you, i've heard there sh*t and wear down quickly Get a Creepy Have you used the tyre yourself? 'I've heard' isn't really the best supporting argument for trying to back up your opinions. The monty tyre this guy is talking about has only been out for the guts of a month or two, so I would say that very few people have been using them, and 'i've heard' from people that use the 2.7 that it is a great tyre, but does take getting used to.How do we know that your not talking about the old monty tyre's, which I tend to agree are kinda balls, and look shitty.Edit: I've just realised, your profile says you ride stock, if that's the case you wont have used either of those tyre's recently enough to give an accurate review. anzo
........all i can think about when i saw this thraed is 'monty python'. lmfao....... Hes not the messiah, hes a very naughty boy........now PISS OFF! Holy Grail...million times better then Life of Brian Anyways. I like the look of these tires, they will be quick wearing without a doubt, but for some reason (might be the wideness and the huge tread) I get the feeling these beasts aren't designed for street...Monty generally being a manufacture of competition bikes, this tyre would be designed for natty riders...I think. But there is no reason this cant be adapted to street...I suppose, so, to avoid opening yet another topic, and seeing how I'm stuck at work and can't measure up...Will this tire fit a t-pro?Edit: After reading Jakes post, better say why they would be quick wearing. Simply because the tread is huge, and with a huge tread and riding concrete...it won't last long. Yes it will grip like hell...but it won't have a lifespan like a creepy. With tires like this (looking from a mototrials point of view) a huge, fresh tread is good but only for a short time, once the thread runs down to a certain point (when the tread imprint disappears) it becomes shit. However...I think I'm thinking about this too much, for the sake of what? 30 quid? It's hardly worth loosing sleep over. Many Thanks. Hobnobs
Well they may wear quickly, but so do creepy's, and no one goes round burning those. My brother has one, and its good, im gunna use them when my creepy wears out.Oh, and it may be a harder compound, meaning longer life? CurtisRider
dont listen to me, i dont know anything thats fact or remotely usefulHave you used the tyre yourself?Edit: I've just realised, your profile says you ride stock, if that's the case you wont have used either of those tyre's recently enough to give an accurate review.hes a cock thats why jake, he said he would never come back ages ago when he quit to ride bmx, but hes bloody back again
Clarky
I wouldn't get a Monty tyre if i was you, i've heard there sh*t and wear down quickly Get a Creepy My koxx tyres have warm down quiker than that of maxxis, yet i feel they are better in comps, just because they have a fast wear rate doesnt mean there sh@t it may just mean better grip.Clarky. Gavyn.
If you can afford to replace a try all tyre every few months then they are great for street and comps. The new montys don't look as grippy as a try all but the extra width would be cool. Walleee
As far as I can see a softer compound equates to a grippier tyre but a shorter lifespan. I've recently switched from a Creepy Crawler to a Luna. :$ As far as I can tell ( I havn't had the chance to ride it properly yet) the luna is a harder compound, seems to have a differant sidewall design, and simply doesn't feel as nice on the back wheel. If I had a pump with a guage i'd be able to know for sure, but I think im having to run much lower pressures in the luna to achieve the same amount of give in the back tyre as I was comfortable with the CC. I like the way the CC's sidewall seem to be kinda quite thin, and 'fold' nicley when on a point or something, the luna's just kinda seem to bend with the pressure and I can see myself not getting on with it and switching back to the worn CC I was using if I dont get the 2.7 one soon.I guess it's just a case of trying them out for yourself, as it really is down to personal preferance and everyone explains their tyre's differantly, i'm sure people are thinking after reading my descriptions.I don't like the try all's. Mainly because i'm queer and want to have my bike all monty components as much as possible but don't like the old monty tyres, and secondly because I don't like the tread pattern one bit.i'll try the new monty one's and see how they are and if im not happy with it i'll be back to the creepy crawler's. A 2.7 creepy crawler would be perfect
poopipe
As far as I can see a softer compound equates to a grippier tyre but a shorter lifespan. nail , head - ask a formula one drivernot sure what anyone else thinks but I reckon creepy crawlers wear out silly fast anyway. Ive had mine about 6 months riding on average about 6-8 hours a week on the streets and they're 3/4 bald already. Im not overly bothered on account of me being rich and them not being too pricey. Deonn h
cheers for the advise.Anyone running one on a ronnie rim cause there abit thin not sure if it will hold a 2.7.Need a new rim anyway the amount of tyre foldage with them rims it`s basically impossible to run low pressures with them rims . Mark W
It happened 9 months ago Anyway, I don't even really like the Creepy Crawler tyres that much. I get about a month to a month and a half out of mine. They're really grippy, but they fold like f**k, spring back in a really unpredictable way, and they just don't seem to be that great. I've got a Try-All up front and love that, so I might go for one on the rear, but they're the same compound as the Maxxis so I'm not all that sure I want to cane through £30 a month on tyres, really...
