cleanbikes
A guy turned up at today's trial with his 5½ year old - great! But the thing was, this guy used to enter the Tykes competitions himself right back when it first started in 1997, but gave up when his baby was born. Now that 'baby' is old enough to ride himself! How many of you will bring your kids along to comps in the future ... and does this mean that trials is going to have a boom in about 5-10 years?!!! Waynio
i am possibly going to be an uncle soon.SO the baby weather girl or boy WILL do trials hehe. so there will deffo be an offspring of my sister's kid attending trials (i hope) if she lets me take he/she.Waynio..........................it made my day seeing that young lad with a smile from ear to ear!!!! even when it was snowing he was raring to ride ALL the sections again. his dad just wanted him to ride 10 and then possibly go home, BUT the young lad WANTED to ride all 10 TWICE!!!! @ 5 1/2 years old he is more into it than MOST,hes even attending the british championship aswell barbara @ addingham!!!! spunkey_monkey_boy
and not only did the wee lad want to ride all 20 sections but he was badgering his dad about being alowed to 'go play' afterwards, he wasn't prepared to stop riding just because he'd run out of sections.unfortunately i have no plan to ever have kids but if i do by mistake they'll be riding trials... Walleee
Can he bunny hop n stuff???? That's great, are there any pictures from the trial?I wish someone from the mainland would video comps for those of us who can't get to them. I've got about 5 comp vid's but that's about it.......any takers???
ogre
I would definatley get my kids into trials, or at least some disiplin of biking and help them out with it (not like my dad who doesn't help me at all), and if they turn into chavs i'll put them in sacks and dump them in a river... Waynio
LMAO!!!!!trust me im not having kids for a while.Waynio..................... cant afford kids. can only JUST afford to do the biking. luckily being sponsored helps alot i appreciate the work and effort that goes in from Fred @ Koxx UK. cos i think without him last and this year i would be struggling to afford to travel around and exploit trials to the full. i had to put that in cos i just feel quite lucky. Walleee
Wayne, i'd even be interested in raw, unedited footage of a comp. Not nescessarily all pro riders but anice wee mix to show the varying degrees of ability.Cheers for that, i'd very much appreciate it(Y) Edited February 27, 2006 by jake1516

Hurman
What made Sunday special for us was how everyone was so positive and helpful. The guys placing posts on this thread were more than happy to chat with my son and to listen to what he had to say which beleive it or not is unusual. The observers were also excellent giving him the time and encouragement to continue through the sections. We completed all the sections because my son beleived he could win and I explained he had to do all the sections to stand a chance of doing that, so on he went. And yes he did want to play afterwards and did so for about 1/2 an hour until the awards were presented. (no more Haribo's Tom!!) The awards were the icing on the cake for us both, it was definately a Kodak moment when he received his 3rd place medal and it hasn't left his side since.Don't leave your kids in the car get them out, put their wellies on and point them towards the sections, you might be surprised! We arrived at 10.15 am and left at 5.30 pm, over 7 hours of fun and not once did I have to say no.Thanks to Robbie, John, Wayne and Barbara, see you on the 19th. But I guess you start to realise that it could actually hurt, at whatever age it is. I wanna see some pics of this kid riding! he sounds awesome. I only wished that i'd seen the little scamp at it. Robbie is worried now that he is here with young jacub robinson.I hope we can bring more young blood into trials, maybe we as a nation can take the trials world by storm, lets face it if the little uns can manage a day like yesterday in that cold, they are made of pretty special stuff.Call me if you want to go out with us any time. John and Rob P.S Robbie still sleeps with all of his awards. How big was the lump in your throat on sunday eh. I still well up when I see how well he does.(but i'm a bit soft)
