RobinJI
Put the Scirocco on the rollers at a local college earlier for a laugh as it was free, and it gives me something as a comparison to what it comes out as after I've got the head and cam on, it made 99.5hp/102ft-lbs at the fly, and 78.1hp/90ft-lbs at the wheels. Not too bad I suppose, should be 90hp/106ft-lbs from the factory, 20 years and 119k ago, with a webber carb and a downpipe back exhaust being the only modifications.Should be getting the teledials at the weekend now too. RobinJI
You've done it all backwards Boumsong, when you strip a car out you're meant to take out the non-essential bits and leave in the essential bits, not the other way around! Tom_
AdrianFlux is well worth a visit Im with adrian flux, there pretty cheap on a standard car, and good for mods too. Although I found churchill to be about £100 cheaper, however being under 18, I couldnt pay by direct debit, so had to go with adrian flux. MadManMike
It's different for everyone though, my friend had his Corsa insured through Elephant and advised me to get my Polo insured through them.It was the cheapest place for him at 18 with a 1.4 Corsa, but for me it was one of the more expensive for my 1.3 GT at 20.£1100 TPFT (Other places were £398)

Dan6061
Good to see you've disposed of the murder weapon. And everyhing else by the looks of things! What's the actual plan for the 'roco then? or are you just taking it all apart then seeing what you can do with it? I can see it all going back together with gaffa tape like your air filter was/is!
Revolver
He's stashing a mongrel engine in there, I heard. For some reason, he's stripping the interior as well.I wonder if he's trying to pimp it X-to the-Z style?Haha, 'Hi I heard you like heart attacks so I got you a heart attack to go with your heart attack so you can HNNNGH when you HNNRRGGHHH.' RobinJI
To quote from the general car thread...I'd have a nice picture of my scirocco looking all lovely and shiny with its nice new Porshe Teledials fitted to post up right now...However ATS are a bunch of royal retards and did the lock nuts for my old wheels centre caps up with an actual socket instead of nipping them up by hand, meaning as I don't own a 60+mm socket I can't actually take my front wheels off. Fecking handy of them that, they're bloody lucky I didn't get a puncture and end up stranded miles from home, or I'd be seriously pissed off.Rant over, moral of the story, ATS in chard can go insert large, sharp, spiky objects into their various bodily cavity's.I'll be over there before work on Thursday to get them to undo them, as know one I know has a socket anywhere near big enough, we don't even sell them at work. Same, I spent quite a while cleaning the car earlier so that I could get some decent pictures of them up and now its gunna have at least 2 days of road muck on it before I get the chance. On the up side I t-cut out all the marks and fading in the sciroccos paint and its come up way better than I expected, so I'm pleased with that.Think its gunna need some arch work on the rear (read as remove the lip) to get a decent drop on the teledials anyway, so I guess it gives me time to do that. Stance looks perfect though, just need to swap my rear 15mm adaptors for some 20's so I don't have to run any spacers.
Jolfa
Big bad adjustable spanner/pipe grips?
RobinJI
Finally got off my arse and got some photos of the scirocco with the new wheels. Loving it so far. Stance is spot on on the front, could maybe do with a small amount of spacing on the back. I've also wound the coilovers down about another 20-25mm, the drop must be easily in the 3 figures now. TrAsHeR
Just need a bit of information and advice.Right so I should be passing my test soon which I already failed once. And I will be getting a polo 1.4 Tdi 2002 5doors could anyone tell me roughly how much the insurance will cost me, and what company to go for. Also when going to pick up the car is a test drive enough to tell if the car is in good cond? If not what should I do?Thanks for the help!
RobinJI
The spot lights are actually after market driving lamps that I put on yesterday. haha I'm not too fussed on the looks, but they help for lane driving at night. I wanna move then inboard a bit more though, and maybe paint them.Still running the good old carbed 8v, cant really insure a lot else, so it'll be staying another year or so I'd have thought, then its 20vt/g60 time
