Ymsa Comp On March 12th

just got back from a nice entertaining drive, managed to end up at dudwood originally as we followed the first ymsa sticker stuck on a sign which took us to the moto trial  (letting us know it was just outside the village of elton, and a reasonable set of direction, and perhaps some advance warning of the moto trials event would have been massively appreciated, oh and while im on the subject, light blue arrows on a dark blue background really dont work, simple black on white is the way forward (Y) ) Got to burycliffe in the end but didnt bother going up to the venue as we met john evens on the way back down saying it was cancelled, ticcy then had a quick masterclass in how to pull away on snow on a hill, lots of wheel spinning ensued, but finally managed to get moving with a nice cloud of clutch smell :S

Have just got back to luf now to find its warm and completely dry!!

That was a bit of a pisser... What was the actual reason it was cancelled? Because i've never heard of a comp being cancelled because of snow?

Cheers,

Joe.

Hey all

The trials was called off due to snow there was two inches off it so, it was quite bad, well way to bad to compete in. Remember the sections must be safe we dont want any broken necks do we.

cheers

The decision was given to the riders by Dave as to whether or not they wanted to ride, the sections were deemed too dangerous to ride in those conditions.

There was no snow when we left Danny's in the morning, an no snow when we got back there.

Dave put a lot of work into this event, (time and effort) its not his fault that the weather turned against him.

yer, we were all gutted but the sections were covered and it would have been to dangerouse for a comp to take place, i managed to ride for about 10 mins but my brake froze and i fell on ma ass more than normal. allso it would have been too harsh on the observers, it was realy windy, cold and snowy about the worst combination for standing still outdoors all day.

thanks to dave and his family, as i know a lot of work went into this first event, new flags, punchcards etc and properly laid out, compleatly taped out sections. just because the trial was cancelled due to the weather conditions doesent mean any less work went into it!
