CBProductions
Ok need people's help , I want to get some braided hose for the rear hs33 (2005) and also want to fit the monty hose splitter to equalise my power distribution onto the rim. I asked my friend who had some and he said it would be a pain to do as I would have to cut some of the braided hose down e.t.c. Has anyone else done this or could anyone shed some light onto how easy or not it will be to do and how to go about it.Cheers Craig

anzo
I've not seen the inside of the braided hosing, but do you seriously need to do this?I'd say its possible, but I personally wouldn't like cutting up some 40 quid hosing for a hit or miss. Not to mention the hosing will look awful afterwards if you suceeded.I found that certain hosing can be a right b*****d with the monty splitters...too soft hosing and it pulls out, too hard and it stretches and then pulls out anyway.Until you know the type of hosing inside a braided hose I just wouldn't bother at all...but if you've got money to burn then by all means try it...and let us know how it went.Alternitely, try contacting Tartybikes and see if they can help at all. Guest
Braided hoses have metal round them weaved right? If you start cutting through that and don't have a means of closing off the new, open end, the weave will just unravel eventually and you'll be left with the plastic inners of the hose.......'to equalise my power distribution onto the rim'The normal hose does that anyway. anzo
Yea, the only real way you could do it is to put insulation tape (replaced every month or so) around the end of the hose to stop it from fraying...or chemical metal. To be honest, I really wouldn't bother with it. CBProductions
I was just looking at it so that it equals it out as it says in it's description, One method I was going to try was to keep the bottom to splits that go to the cylinders as standard hosing and just upgrade the one long piece from the lever to the splitter? It's not just power that im wanting it's hose that wont break should I have a crash. Thanks for the advice though, Craig
anzo
You may aswell use all of it. Its a hundred times stronger then the normal hose stuff and I very much doubt It would snap at the cable.More then likely, it would break at the bolts after a LOT of abuse/overtightening. I think what your trying to achieve is much hassle for little performance. If you want strength, by all means go braided, but there it little you can do to prevent snappage of any hose. CBProductions
Ok I think I will just go with the braided hose option rather then messing about as you've said. Thanks for all your help it's been much appreciated.Craig
