trialsking 55
you get what you pay for, monty aren't going to lose money, they're not stupid.
Trials mama
you get what you pay for, monty aren't going to lose money, they're not stupid.yea i guessed that but the geo is bassically the same the pr is o.3 mm shorter and the odd degree out on the head tube and cockpit and for the price i wouldnt mind trying one. the reason i posted is beacuse i wanted to find out the exact diferences like material made, howe much the difference in geo will affect the ride, that kind of thingeddie
Hobnobs
I doubt you will notice the difference in terms of geo.I'd say its probably slightly heavier, and the welding is a different type. They have 6 months warrenty so its not gunna die instantly on you.

Walleee
Best of luck to you, they arn't even available here yet, I hope to have the first one in the UK.....Edit: Frame that is, are you getting the full build? The differance then is the Ti uses titanium components, bolts, spokes, etc. Edited February 26, 2006 by jake1516

Walleee
Im not sure yet, i've got a few places hassling their suppliers, and have been told that a new shipment is due in, in 2-3 weeks time, wether they are the 06 versions or not, no-one seems to be sure so I guess it's just a case of biting my lip and waiting to see what happens.I don't really want to get the 05 and then a month later the 06 comes out, but it seems that nobody knows what the score is when bike's are getting brough over here. I have had the same hassle trying to get a bike that isn't generally instock before. It's unreal how they can get away with it, I don't blame the shops , because they are generally kept in the dark as to when they will get an order in and if everything they have order will be delivered.Surley somone is responsible for it and can make the situation a little better for those of us who WANT to give them our money?Anyway, when I get it, ill be sure to have picture's up. Walleee
Aye, see there is only one monty distributer in the uk, which isn't too good because it means there is no competition to have it first.I'll let you know how I get on anyway. Backgren
Im pretty sure the Pr is not to be used with a rear disk-brake. The 05 221's craked at the disk-mount, and the dropouts/brake-mounts look exactly the same on the older 221ti and the newer Pr

Hobnobs
2-3 weeks is when the next delivery is coming to the U.K. Not 100% that the frames will be in that batch though.
spunkey_monkey_boy
just to clarify, the 221ti does not have a titanium frame, its just an alu frame specced up with fancy ti parts...(or at least thats what the monty rep told us last year at addingham... There does seem to be a fair bit of interest in this frame within this forum alone, im sure it could do well given the chance..... Hobnobs
I've been trying my best, but i dont think theres really much i can do. I assume that the stuff has been ordered, and they are just waiting for the factory to send it. A load of other stuff is coming at the same time, but im not sure why it takes so long! Walleee
This is from a well known American Trials ShopA number of you have been eargerly waiting for the 221PR to become avialable. Well, word from the factory is that they will be ready the end of the first week of March (less than 2 weeks!). This mod has the same geometry of the world round winning 221Ti . NOTE: the factory spec sheet says it is 949mm wheelbase..... WRONG, don't know what they are measuring but the bike actually measures out at approx. 1010mm wheelbase. Walleee
Just off the phone to MRS, they hope to have the frames in by next tuesday, so i'd say end of next week at the latest hopefully. From the phone call it seemsthat im not the only one looking for this frame either, seems to be in high demand. Not sure about when the forks are coming through, but apparently they are due in too and should arrive no more than 10 days after the frames......Fingers crossed. Deonn h
Personally i think them 221 pro`s are a bit of a scank because it was no different to my 220 hydra what i got last year for £530.They are pretty heavy aswell.I would try get yourself a second hand ti.There is quite a few 06 ones arounf for sale. The new 221pr is much the same as the 05 ti, the only differance I can see is the down tube and top tube meet at the headtube of the 05 ti, and dont on the 06 221pr.Im not checking it now as im in work, but I doubt a 220 is the same, infact i didn't think they made '05 220's.......
