i have a set of HS-33's and they are gettin crappy, cus they been used alot and they need rebleeding (according to 2 bike shops, both of which said they'd do it for money, which costs!! obvious huh!!) i was gonna use oil but then red here and i think water will do!! the ones i have (shown on this website cus of the lever style!!) (http://www.cyclesense.co.uk/smsimg/62/1261hs33.jpg)

Can you tell me exactly how to do it, like undoing screws and stuff!!

Also im grinding (well cross sawing!!)my rims and getting some new pads! so no need to suggest new ways of braking power!!

Thanks in advance!!

Ant!

1: Take the maguras off your bike and put them fully submerged in a sink full of water.

2: Unscrew the little grub bolt on the lever (right next to the cable)

3: Unscrew the bolt on the caliper (there is only one bolt there so it's not hard to find)

4: Make sure the TPA is fully unwound.

5: Keeping the lever fully submerged under water pump the lever a 4-5 times normaly.

6: Put your finger over the whole on the lever you took your bolt out of and pump 5 times then take your finger off the hole and slowly let the lever go back out.

7: Do step 6 until no oil comes out and you feel resonable happy with it.

8: Do the bolts back up under water and you will have a nice bleed.

9: If you wan't to get ALL the oil let the water out the sink and play with the lever for a while just normaly pumping it then refil the sink and do steps 1-8 again.

EDIT: Whoo im slow off the mark :P .

Hi Ant. The way i bled my hs33's was to get a large syringe and fill it with magura oil. To bleed it i left the little screw bolt slightly unscrewed to let all the air bubbles out. Once there was no more air bubbles coming out, just oil i screwed the cap back on and hey presto , one bled brake!, Once you have done it, I think you will find it isnt as hard as you thought it would be! :D
