T_PRO
I have just put a Hope mono trial disc on my bike and want to add more oil to it because i feel the brake lever has too much slack. Could i use Magura oil instead of Dot 4/5.1?Thanks
dave85
No, they aint compatible, so i wouldnt try it if i were you. Tried adjusting the lever with an allen key?
Fishy
No, you have to use the correct oil, im not sure why, but i think it's to do with the seals, and how dense the oil is, or something along those lines.EDIT: bugger you beat me Edited February 24, 2006 by Joe Rothwell
echoteam!!
it sais it on the brake near the levar any way what oil to use?
matt rushton
Never put magura oil into a hope because your seals will brake and your brake will leak oil out. hoped this helped.
basher
you cant use magura oil and chances are your problem is nothing to do with that adjust the lever. if you screw the crub screw in on the lever think it will take some slack up. just fiddle till its right. Jaffacakes
If it is new it will be factory bled so it will be good, but the TPA will have been undone to bleed it and probebly not done up. A 1-2 mm allen key will do the job.You will find a small threaded screw where the lever blade meets the lever, Just tighten it up.
cvtrial
Try a not so very thick motor-oil, it's that which inside my cables!
shucksmith1
magura oil is defo a no go. id just do what everyone else has suggested and either re bleed with the correct oil or screw in the grub scre on the inside of the lever to get rid of the slack. if u do that option make sure u put some thread lock on the grub screw other wise u will be screwing up up every bloody week.matt
ogre
Don't use mag oil! and please in the name of all things decent don't use water it might be funny to use water actually, bleed it with water !
